Man I never thought of pulling it off. I am now though. I like it. I had to search to find this thread again after thinking about it so I could look at your pics and comment.

Went through same thing a couple weeks back removed them and instantly hated it.Ordered all 4 from local dealer they are made from 3M satin black vinyl and backing of vinyl makes a nice template if you screw one up or have to replace one in the future.

Leave it off. It looks so much better without it IMO and you won't have to worry about it fading or getting scratched. I took mine off and like it more and more everyday.

I do like the 'blackout' of the door pillars if you have tinted windows...since it sort of makes it look like its all one piece.
I added Tufskinz carbon fiber. Did the carbon fiber off of Amazon for the door pockets too.

That's my truck on the Tufskinz website with the CF overlays. I did apply the CF pieces over the OEM black vinyl. Tufskinz told me it did look weird installed without it.

Just get yourself a few Sharpies and color it back in! Good as new!

Hate to revive an old thread but I don’t think I’ve seen anyone post after successfully replacing the vinyl.

I traded in my 2017 2wd sr5 for a 2019 4x4 off road a few months ago, and when I got my truck the vinyl was all scratched and faded, so I pulled it off the next day and didn’t love the look but it was better than damaged vinyl.

I was bored today and my local dealer had all 4 replacements so I grabbed them, took about 45 min and was pretty easy if you are familiar with vinyl.

How do you get the vinyl under the weather strip?

It pulls back really easy, I just pulled back a section at a time and tucked the vinyl.

Nailed the alignment! Did you lay down some painters tape first?

At first I taped both of them up with the backing paper still on just to get a visual, but ended up just aligning both sides by sight.
