Need help on some corner light clips....

Good day fellow taco's,

I purchased some headlights and corner lights for my 2001 Tacoma. I always had problems on them fitting a bit loose. I noticed upon installed the new corner lights that there is some clips or other things missing in order for this corner light to screw on or tighten up a bit ill have some pictures for better understanding. Also, when removing my front grill some of those clips broke off (ugh), so know I've been looking at ebay and I cant seem to find the correct ones to order. I noticed on the far right and left hand corner there are two clips that are much bigger then the other 8 clips. Another problem I have is that the headlight filler trim feel loose as well. Any suggestions on how to better install that thing so it wont move!? lol So now after installing the new headlights and corner lights, well, the corner lights are a bit loose. The only screw they have is the one on the top and thats it. So dont really want to loose these on the highway.

The corner lights also slot into the white clip(s). The one in pic 1 and 2 looks damanged and I don't see it at all in pic 3 for the other side. Part numbers are
53137-04010 right side
53138-04010 left side
As for the headlight filler piece I just bent the tabs on them until they fit most snug on the grill

Yea the one in pic 1 and 2 is damaged. I dont even know what happened to the left sided one.

 

Good luck the driver side is on indefinite back order with no ETA. I canceled my backorder today. I had it on backorder for two months. I would not be surprised if it goes NLA

 

When I bought mine about 2 months ago (only purchased for the passenger side) I found an Amazon listing for some dealership, literally only purchased from them because I could did one click buy. Can't say in my reasearch I located a "generic" one so a purchase from/though a dealership

 

Anybody know where i can purchase the two outer larger clips that go on the far left and right on the grill. Here s a pic for better reference. I believe I have found the smaller clips, but I cant seem to find the two bigger clips.

 

Local dealer. Online dealer will be cheaper but if onky order that not worth it because of shipping cost. Or ebay.

For the grill clips they make aftermarket but if you order from China they take forever to arrive. For the 2 outer large clips not sure if they make aftermarket.

 

Oh man! Well, Ill just have to search around see what pops up.

 

You might have have bought from a dealer that had stock on hand. There is no driver side clips to be had from any depo right now. The crap part is this clip is 95.5-2004 Tacoma specific and is not used on any other vehicles. I saved my old one just because they had no ETA two months ago. The last I heard over 650 people had this clip on backorder

 

Maybe a junkyard, ebay dealer stock

Just pulled the Amazon page for the passenger clip and they have it listed as unavailable now. Guess I should be glad I was able to salvage the clip on the driverside when I replaced my fenders

 

I'm confused, so the driver"s side clip is on national backorder but they're available on ebay?

 

I bought all new head, corner and parking lights in Amazon. COuld not be happier with the quality of the ones I picked up. Read the reviews, there are several brands available, so I bought the brand with the better reviews. ALso, they already come with the bulbs installed!

 

Is this the one for the driver side ? It’s to secure the corner light right ?

 

They're dealers that have stuff on hand. If you look at the eBay trending price for this clip it's nearly doubled in the last month. The dealers that have them know people are going to pay more. If you walked into a dealer right now that doesn't have this clip in stock you're out of luck. There's no Toyota parts depo that has them in stock for the driver side.

 

Ignore that I was wrong. eBay claims nothing for the correct part number and is now showing passenger side only as subs

It looks like no one has any driver side clips

 

Do you know about the grill clip, the two larger ones ? I guess the driver side retainer for the corner light will have to wait.

 

No idea, they show the big clips on the diagram, but no part numbers
