I am not sure what's going on but I noticed today that my lights were flickering really bad and extremely noticable. My wife put her visor down and the lights were pulsating so bad. Didn't think anything of it. We went out and when she open the door my map and some lights came in and we're flickering awful. I got out and checked my tag lights and tail lights and they were flickering bad as well. Headlights, dash, fog lights seemed to be fine.

    Meso map
    Meso dome
    Meso taillights
    Led interior bulb
    Vled footwell lights

    Last week I added

    Switchpro
    Meso pods
    Dongar technologies/ dash cam
Db customs grill insert with lighting

I feel like I would've noticed if this had been going on before and I swear it just randomly started today. Anyone ever had something similar or know where to start at?

Just as an update. I took it to a shop who installed all my accessories. We removed each component out of line to see if the issue would continue. Nothing worked. The shop ended up adding additional grounds and beefing up the factory grounds and it worked fine and I have not had any issues. It started up again last week and I am dumbfounded. It just happens randomly at this point and not consistent. I am going to remove the footwell lights because the flickering is so noticeable when the door is open. I am going to reinstall the factory bulbs in the vanity lights, map lights, dome lights and see what happens. May also remove the Meso taillights and put in OEM. If issue continues then taking it to the dealership to see if they can pin point the issue

Make sure to disconnect the battery before changing the bulbs out.

Can you relate it anything such as sharp turns, sudden braking, bumps, etc? It sounds to me like somewhere in all those accessories, you've got a weak connection, either power or ground, but this feels more like a power-side issue, just based on your description. I would suspect either an improperly terminated connection or possibly inadvertent damage to another connector/conductor and when the vehicle moves a certain way, or when something gets warm, the fault appears. Could be a real son of a female dog to track down. Were all the connections done properly (soldered, heat-shrink) or with the those friggin' gawd-awful Scotchlock connectors?

Honestly, it is just hit or miss. This morning I got into the truck, started it up and no issues with lights flickering/pulsating. Yesterday, I got in it in the morning and immediately as I opened the door i noticed the footwell lights were flickering. No improper connections, they spent a week trying to figure out what the issue was when I dropped it off at their shop at the end of July. Just kind of lost at this point and more so frustrated.

What's the voltage at the flickering lights?

I never checked. I was trying to find a common denominator between everything that was having the issues. I think its 3 different circuits that are technically having issues since footwell lights, dome lights, map lights, vanity lights, third brake light, tail lights, and tag lights were having the issue.

Are those lights all on the same fuse? What circuits are all of the add-ons wired into?

You are going beyond my realm now. I believe the Third brake light is on a seperate circuit, the tail lights are a different circuit, and then the puddle pods, and all the overhead lights are on the same circuit. I think that is what I have gathered over time

Without knowing the basics, troubleshooting is going to be pretty much impossible.

Intermittent problems are tough. Intermittent electrical issues are really tough, and intermittent electrical problems of after-market accessories just about the toughest of all. If the people who did the install can't find it I would say that either they're not very good at their job, or they're not trying too hard.

After no issues for the last 12 months, my interior map lights up overhead have started flickering when I open the door.
I cant remember the brand of LED but they were aftermarket and definitely weren’t Meso’s. If I press the button to turn the light on manually, nothing flickers, only happens when a door opens. No other work done to the truck that corresponds to the flickering issue. Although it happens occasionally, it is happening a lot more frequently lately. When it gets bad enough to deal with it I was going to swap bulbs or replace them completely. I have a feeling its from low quality led drivers. That’s what happened in my old 2nd gen a few years ago.

disconnected VLED footwell harness and connected factory harness.
disconnected Meso dome and map lights
turned off switchpro and checked grounding point
still having flickering on taillights and third brake light.

The puddle pods never had an issue and they are in the same circuit as the dome and map lights. Feel like it is chasing a ghost at times. I am taking them the vehicle on Wednesday and will see what happens from there

I ended up ordering some Diode Dynamics interior lights today. Going to remove the Meso lights and either put in stock or the aftermarket and see if any thing changes.

How did you check the ground?

I believe they checked the grounding points with a multimeter at multiple locations. both factory and some of the ones they added

LEDs are my bet. My first gen did that really bad intermittently and I ended up back with stock bulbs. Did I miss whether you had seen them pull everything out completely and tested each mod going back in, one by one?

I didn't personally see it. I take their word for it. They had my truck for a whole week playing with it
