I have a 2005 stock rear bumper and there are 4 push pins (two on top and two underneath) that holds the black plastic cover to the bumper shell. Once you remove them they break so I need to replace. Anyone know the toyota P/N and where I can find these? Thank you for the help.

You should be able to just call up the local dealership and get the P/N however, auto parts stores sell whole racks of plastic clips that should cover most of the different varieties. Do you have a removed one you can take with you and compare?

Thanks guys very much. I'm assuming it is item #4 which combines the two pieces of the push pin? P/N 52161-04010
Does the two at the end in paratheses mean qty 2, because there should be four. Thanks again

Yes it means QTY 2. I don't recall there being 4 of those push pins, just the 2 on the top of the cover, but not the bottom (as illustrated in the attached Toyota parts breakout). Unless you have a X-Runner, which appears like it might use 2 push pins on the bottom inside/middle area of its bumper shrouds (reference very bottom of attached Toyota parts breakout).

Also, for reference here's a couple past threads illustrating the rear bumper assembly (non X-Runner) and they do not show or mention any push pins on the bottom as well:

My 05 uses 2 push pins underneath on the black plastic where in one of the videos it shows a 10mm bolt, maybe it's specific to the 05.
Anyways thanks so much for the links and info, definitely needed for my work to replace the bumper ( as soon as I get one). Thanks

Unless you're the original owner and know for a fact that bumper has never been touched, you may want to take a closer look at the holes where those two push pins underneath came out of. They should be two threaded holes on the bumper support beam for bolts. I could be wrong, but I'm doubtful what you're reporting is specific to the 05s (and isn't reflected on Toyota's parts breakout) and instead is probably something squirrely that took place with your truck in the past. Perhaps at some point they were rusted/stripped/drilled out and push pins were used as a workaround or maybe the bumper was replaced with one of those cheap aftermarket bumper assemblies that uses push pins instead. :notsure:

I am the original owner and the rear bumper has never been touched. So for what ever reason the factory used push pins on the two flaps or tabs on the underside of the cover. Thanks
