My old Ryobi just isn't cutting it anymore, literally, so it's time. I don't have room for a slider. Single bevel or double? I like the idea of the double and don't see a downside. I've got a few Dewalt tools and really like them (same with Makita). Homeowner and hobbyist, not a pro, so $800 saws are not in scope.

This seems like a good deal and reviews say very accurate.

That’s a terrific saw for the money, if you don’t need the slide. If it fits your needs, you can’t go wrong with that one

That is a good price for that saw.
Double bevel is very nice. 12 inch blades are nice for the larger capacity but the blades are a bit more pricey from what I've seen. I do really like Makita and Bosch sliding compound miter saws because they take up less storage room then traditional sliding miter saws.

I’ve had that DeWalt saw (or a very similar model at least) for quite a few years now & no complaints. Works great for around the house projects

I own the DeWalt compound miter with slide and it's amazing. Storing it is a pain, so like you said if you don't need the slide, go without. But would highly recommend.

I have owned my Dewalt 12” double bevel sliding compound for over15+ years. I use the double bevel all the time. It is accurate. Used it in landscape construction, high end remodels and in many of my own home improvement projects. It has been a great investment.

Old and worn out, think 15 years old at least. Was the cheapest model from HD when I got it. Can't get an accurate cut no matter how much I tweak it.

I love this saw! Out of the box, no assembly or adjustments, cut a perfect 90 on a piece of oak. So much quieter and smoother than the old saw. Order of magnitude better. Decided I wanted a mobile stand so I stopped by Harbor Freight. Got this one on clearance for $129. It's beefy and well made.

Glad it worked out well for you. Stands are really nice to have. I bought the Dewalt portable stand with mine and it has saved a lot of bending over and has really helped with some of the intricate cuts I have had to make. (Pic is not mine but same model)

I've used ryoby, makita, b&d, Dewalt, and used to think Dewalt was the best. But I just got a matobo after 44yrs of on the job use. I didn't want a slide because at 65+ it's weighs to much and I can almost all my cuts from my new double bevel matobo. Enjoy the saw. I went with the matobo because it's blade speed is faster and the pivot point gives me a little bigger cut depth. Dewalt, Milwaukee, porta cable all have the same parent company. Just remember a good saw and a good blade or a average saw and a good blade both do great.
