    Looking for someone who can make me a custom bracket from thin steel or maybe aluminum. It needs to look like a quality piece. I can handle the powder coating so it won’t need to be finished. I have a bracket that I could send you as a starting point. It will be nearly identical with a few small changes. It’s a bracket for mounting a GMRS radio or stereo amp beneath the drivers seat. Only looking for someone with the tools to make a professional looking finished bracket. Please let me know if you can help or know a place that can.D6D6AB82-CCC4-4337-BA54-B8300E20A0DB.jpg

    That may be helpful if I can find someone to create the design file, but I have zero knowledge in this area. Thanks for the idea though.

    I’m in the same boat. But I downloaded some free software last night, spent about 20 minutes learning it, and will have my file ready to send this week.

    Just an option if you can’t find someone to do it for you.

    @AtomAnt,

    No idea where you live but what you need besides a member here who would make it for you is a "sheet metal fabrication shop". Ideally, they would be a low volume, quick-turn or prototype shop.

    The benefit of a sheet metal fab shop is you wouldn't need a drawing or "design file". They will create the work instructions or machine executable files needed for their shop. The downside is they will not be free...

    I would do a google search and find out if there are any shops near the city or town you live in. You could take a picture of what you have or you could make an appointment to stop by and explain exactly what your requirements are. If there are any defense contractors near to where you live you can bet there are plenty of sheet metal and/or machine tool contractor companies.

    Shouldn't be difficult to find a cost effective shop. Good luck,

    Thanks! I may live near you based on your Eagle, Globe and Anchor. I’m in Beaufort, SC. Probably a place you’ve been anyways. Lol

    I can make you the part in solidworks and send you the file. I would just need the exact desired dimensions. let me know if you're interested!

    @AtomAnt hit up @paranoid56 He does great work, his prices are awesome. He has made a few things for me, from minor little dog guardrail brackets (yeah, seriously) to more ornate things like my light mount.

    This is what I was looking for. Thank you! I had a local fabrication shop make it for me. After 5 weeks I picked it up today and I’m not impressed at all. It’s a bit to rough for me to even clean up his jagged edges uneven corners. I’ll give him a shout. Should be a simple project for him.

    This is great to know. Now I just need to remember whenever I find a project that can use some sheet metal help!
