N2 Designs remote start. Anyone have the instructions for the Key Takeover version?

EDIT: I found the instructions. I hid them from myself. Posted photos of them for any future idiots like me down below.

EDIT 2: thread kind of turned into a support issue with truck turning on and off when remote starting. (new style of harness needed after return)

I have been sitting on installing the remote start from N2 designs for my 2020 Tacoma with the new Key Takeover (truck doesn't shut down when doors open) version. Got everything ready to go and realized I was never sent instructions and can't find any info online, all the guides and videos are for the old style or 4runners.

I mostly need to know how the programming steps work, since the other connectors are basically the same with older versions.

I just looked at their site, and under support there is a link for installation videos. I can’t see them, because I don’t have a log in, but I’m assuming you do since you recently purchased. Try there or YouTube search, the same ones might be hosted there.

Yeah, those are for the old designs. Nothing has been updated in the last year when this was released.

Trust me, as I said I searched the internet and their site for a good hour before coming here. I can find a lot of old install videos from the previous versions but cables, colors and led's are different. I need the programming sequence.

Oh crap, never mind all. I found them.

I was sent the directions and I hid them from myself.

Though if n2designs does read this, please just host the pdf files for the instructions you send out on your website.

@anunnaki, could you post a copy of your install instructions here? I’d like to see what’s involved with the install prior to purchasing.

Yeah give me a bit. It's an easy install, remove one or two 10mm bolts and 2 phillips/10mm bolts to get access. Left kick panel and the panel under the steering wheel. Then unplug three wiring plugs and capture them with the harness provided, super easy.
But right now my truck is starting up, then shutting down after 20-30 seconds then starting up again when I hit the remote start until I stop it or get in and go. So uh... can't recommend and the moment.

About to do some internet sluething.

I know there is another option out there with the no shut off with door open/unlock but no experience there.
EDIT: accessorides has a remote start with no shut off

Update, everything seem to be working perfectly after disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery and letting it think about how bad it's being for a good 15 minutes. Upon giving it life back it seems to be working 100% as it should be.

I'll be testing tomorrow as it's late and I work in the morning when it shall be nice and cold.

So far out of this experience, stupid easy install, weird issue I seem to have over come, and if it works as is, worth it.

I'll update if anything funky happens even if this thread changed focus, it may help someone in random searches.

Could this issue be why I can't find the takeover style on their website currently?

    Just an update.
About a 20 day turn around from first email sent to receiving the replacement.

It has a new wiring harness, the the old directions are old. The new one has a wire that goes to the passenger side kick panel.

I'll have a deeper look later and try and install it.

I see them on their now but either sold out or low inventory. Seemed I needed a new style of harness, so maybe they pulled them off the store until that was figured out.

I would just look at a different company at this point.
    It works now...
But I had to use side cutters to trim one of the plugs on the new revised harness to make it fit.
The truck also restarts if you use the fob to auto start but then open the door and press the ignition button to shut it off. Then upon closing the door it locks and restarts.
You have to use the key fob to shut it down after using the keyfob to start it.

Thanks for the info, I think I will look elsewhere. Sounds like they don't have it figured out yet.

Anyone upgrade their prior n2 module to the new one? Need to swap the harness or just the module?

I believe it’s both, harness and module. But don’t waste your time. I’m fighting an intermittent wiring issue. Some lights are acting up and so are door locks. Instead of them shipping me a new harness so I can swap them out, I have to disassemble the truck and ship them the defective harness. Only then will the ship me the new one. Absolute joke. If u have a remote start that’s already working, don’t waste your time.

I’ve been running fine now for about 2 months. after my initial problem when it would start and then shutoff after a few seconds then start itself backup.

Support had me take out the dcm fuse and that work except I lost my ability to use the mic when taking/placing calls. Sent back the harness and
due the the cali fires, it took a while before I got my new wire harness (did not have to send in the module). and the new harness is still plug and play but you do have to run a wire over to the passenger side footwell. Not difficult at all.

just glad it’s working now and if they are sending out the new harness. I wouldn’t think there would be any ongoing problems.

What is going on with the lights and door looks? I just installed the takeover kit last weekend and want to make sure I look out for any issues. I've only driven it once since I installed it.

I did have one pin get bent in the N2 harness that I had to straighten out on the harness side for connector B. The failure mode for that bent pin was the module light didn't come on so programming couldn't be done. I took it all apart and and inspected each end of the harness and found the one pin pushed down. After reassembly and module programming all seems to be working now. I hope you get your issues resolved.
