MyQ app for '24 Toyota Tacoma

Has anyone figured out a way to get the MyQ app (garage door control) to appear on the 14" display on the '24 Sport w/premium option upgrade? I've contacted them and they say it's a Toyota issue.

I just cloned a controller to the home rearview mirror button. It would be nice if Spotify and MyQ were info screen native.

 

Yes, I did that but the signal isn’t strong enough. I even extended the antenna all the way outside. I have the app on my iPhone which always works no matter where I am. It’s just a hassle to operate my phone while driving. If I could have the app on my screen it would be easier.

 

HomeLink signal is not strong enough? I don't have my truck yet to test, but my other vehicles work a few house away and by the time I get there the door is basically open.

 

I agree. My 2020 Tacoma Limited's homelink garage door opener worked fine. Alas, not the 2024.

 

My 2024 works like my 19 and 22 did. Maybe something is wrong with yours.

 

My wife has Spotify on her phone and uses the CarPlay version of the app interface all the time, so I know that their app is CarPlay enabled. The MyQ people say their app is CarPlay compatible. Maybe those apps somehow didn't get enabled for CarPlay? I'd check in Settings->General->CarPlay->(Whatever your truck is called in there, mines "TOYOTA Tacoma")->Customize. You can rearrange things and turn off the apps you don't want on the screen while you're in there.

 

Yes spotify works with Carplay. I want it native so it does not need a phone. I’m planning a Starlink setup and everything having to do a lap thru the phone is lame.

 

Chamberlain and MyQ are a bunch of degen liars if they say it's Carplay compatible. It's only Carplay compatible on specific car makes. This is like saying, "My house is open to everyone. No questions asked (if you are in my immediately family only, or strangers who pay me money to be in my house." It's a shit app, a shit company, and the sooner I can find something that isn't pure crap, works with Carplay, I'm switching.

 

Forget myQ entirely and go to a RATGDO board. Installs in minutes and makes the opener Apple homekit native. Shows up on the CarPlay home screen when near your home address.

if you have a compatible opener and want a more polished looking (but not necessarily better) solution for double that price, tailwind makes a good opener control that does the same. But ratgdo is perfect
