    all tore up already
Probably going to need a bit more info on the truck. Automatic transmission? Shuts off the moment you press brakes or as it comes to a stop?

    Welcome to tw

    Check for vacuum line leaks.
Maybe your vacuum booster for your brakes has a leak.

Check for loose or disconnected engine control module or body control module. When I was a younger man I was driving my step dads F150 and the truck just shut off. Had to push it home with my brother. Couldn’t figure out what it was but basically the electronics disconnected from the engine.

Edit* I meant engine control harness. Check that as well.

That would be my first guess.

I could be wrong, but I think that the brake booster has an idle-up vacuum line to increase the idle of the engine when you hit your brakes so it doesn't bog out. similar to the AC idle up, and also the power steering pump has an idle up. These all take quite a bit of power, so the trucks vacuum system will keep the idle at proper levels when those accessories are added into the power needs of the truck.

Im no mechanic or anything, so don't go taking apart your booster based on this, but, this is where I would start looking.

Sounds like you have a bad leak, or an unconnected hose, or maybe an electrical connection disconnected, something related to the brake system..

And i've seen some guys talk on here about that vacuum booster springing a leak internally in the booster that you can't fix. Hopefully its an easy fix.

have you had your battery load tested? Sometimes they will hold the charge but once a load is drawn the volts will plummet

or have you put a multimeter on the battery to even see if you've got the charge you need?
