You should have posted this pic on that thread from the guy who was afraid he was overloading his taco before going on vacation with the family and 120lb dog...

It was in the brand new truck with only 7 miles on it when I bought the it, Baja assembled 17. They did not add it or increase the number during Toyota care services period.
Add mods during that time... steel front bumper, maxtrac spindles, tire and wheel upgrade, steel tube rear bumper, icon 2.5 with 650lb springs, add a leaf, hellwig helper springs, pair of ditch lights and brackets plus the carrier bearing spacer.

We see a lot of older used Toyota trucks carrying another one in the bed ( they use a special rack) towing an additional truck heading south towards the border sometimes, obviously heading towards Libya... actually Probably Mexico. Are they overloaded too? :)

I live in southern New Mexico. You’d be amazed at how much crap someone can pack onto a taco and still tow a few more equally as loaded...

44 lbs? It’s a factory ‘18 TRDOR, with “port added” step tubes and self installed TCF Bed Stiffeners. Lol! Must’ve been the OEM Pro Grille and raptor lights that added all that weight...

The sticker comes from the port where the options are installed, thus your side steps. The OP most likely had the sticker all along but happened to notice once he had work done on his truck.

Hmmm.. Maybe you're right. Given the sticker's location and color I think I would have noticed it before now. But, maybe I didn't. My truck had the tonneau cover option. It's more than 10 lbs, but maybe that's what it's for.

I was thinking the same thing. Mine has a tonneau as well.

So, what options did the guy with the 44 lbs sticker get? Or, the guy with 11 lbs? If we get good at this, maybe we can list options based solely on someone showing their sticker. We could be the envy of Tacomaworld.

Maybe they hand them out like my third grade teacher used to do with stars. Whatever color star she happened to have on hand is what you got on you paper.

I don’t understand some of this. First wheels and tires have nothing to do with carrying capacity. Second if you have beefed up your suspension like when I added the Deaver stage 3 leaf packs rated for like 1000 pounds do they not factor that in and increase capacity? Hell even adding an ask will increase carrying capacity. Wtf are these people thinking?

My guess is 10lbs was the all weather mats or something like that. Did the dealership install the tonneau? Sometimes they'll swap from truck to truck and print their own sticker. I'm thinking the port is responsible for the yellow load reduction sticker and what happens after that is what it is.

Are you sure this was stuck on during a service? All non-base-model Tacomas are going to come from the factory with one of these stickers, based on the installed (factory, non-dealer) add-ons.
