I've used Wix in every vehicle I've ever owned, but he said that it's dumb to not just use OEM Toyota filters. When I bought my truck, I bought 4 Wix filters and I'll go ahead and use them up, but if there's a good reason, I'll buy Toyota filters next. Soooo......let's hear it, fellas.

Wix is a great filter with proven filtration efficiency. No reason to not keep buying them.

I use OEM only because I'm still in the warranty period and I bought the 10 pack off eBay.

out of all the aftermarket oil filters if i had to choose it would be a Wix.

That stated. i grabbed a 10 pack of OEM filters off ebay for 45 bucks shipped with drain plug gaskets... so 4.50 a filter. The OEM filters have been proven to have the best design and most filter media.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
+another for OEM filters. Used them since I started doing it myself.

Yeah, that's a damn bargain and I would have bought them if I'd known there was such a deal available.

I am under warranty myself, but I don't think using a Wix filter voids anything, does it???

One of the mods here did a comparison a while back that makes a pretty compelling case for sticking with the OEM filter. Like some others, the Wix would be my second choice as well. Used them for years without issue and can't imagine that using one would have any warranty implications.

Even a god awful fram filter wont void the warranty

And LOL, that filter comparison just made me stand by the use of OEM YZZD3 filters for the rest of the life of my truck.... way more filtering media than even the taller ones.

Lord help me if my conversation among friends ever gets to the point of what brand of oil filter I use, particularly if it results in me being told I'm dumb.

Ha, I think it was actually "it's dumb to use....." rather than "you're dumb to use....."

    I misquoted him. ;)

What brand of tires does he use? $5 says there is at least one better option, I'd start hammering for being a tight ass with inferior taste in rubber.
