when moving to the tacoma, the sled was the biggest concern. my approach was to bolt in aluminum tubes using the bed bolts. they cantilever over the tailgate so no loading on that weak point. working with dgrp ramps he made a slightly narrower ramp than his standard to fit between the wheel wells. these are cantilever style ramps where you drive the sled up onto the ramp park it, and it's balanced so you can pick up the ramp from rear with sled on it and push it in on rollers riding on my tubes.

need a sled with a narrow ski stance for this set up, alternatively taller tubes / box structure and the full width ramp

works well with less risk to truck bed and cab from driving sled into the bed

Looks good. I used to put mine in the back of my F150. But decided with the short bed Taco and having to go over the wheelwells I just use my trailer. Good looking setup.

That’s pretty awesome, what length is that a 155”? I’ve got a 163” and a Short bed. I tow a trailer now but I’ve contemplated building a bed box and stuffing the long track in there. Sure would look funny but I think it could safely be done if built right.

First guy likes to break a lot, second guy likes to always have to add oil and bum it from friends when he didn’t bring enough and runs out mid ride.

it is a 19 RMK with the narrow stance plus the skis moved all the way in on the spindles ( a bit too narrow imho). with the tubes, ramp, and sloping wheel wells it fits with some space to move the skis out a little

also, the ramp was built at 44" wide vs the standard 48.

the sled is a 155 tunnel / 163 track. I went long bed to get as much weight as possible in front of or near the rear axle.

Dug up a funny old photo from last season. I wanted to see how it fit. I laughed my ass off and pulled it back out immediately. I’ll stick to a trailer.

I use to ride the sled up a simple ramp into the bed of my tundra. As far as the tacoma, i just picked up a used aluminum 5' x 10' utility trailer last year to haul my sled. Comes in handy for other stuff carrying lawn tractors, my steel concrete mixer, and going to the landfill with junk.

    Some nice machines!

I opted to modify my trailer - makes it bit more versatile. You can see where the outside ski is resting ( the clean plywood ) are actual 'wings' that fold in and convert it from a double into a single.

There is a pic of it behind the FJ in the single config with the wings folded in - kinda hard to see.

This year going to redo the deck and add receivers (3 places) at the front for a manual/electric winch to haul up dead machines.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but how much did it cost to get a slightly narrower one made? How did you contact him? Debating a ramp setup for my tacoma this summer and trying to figure out what will work.

I reached out to DGRP Ramps via email. He was super responsive. At the time there was no added cost and he just needed a little time to build it with his next run.

after 3 seasons it still works amazing. I tweaked my rail design a little by cutting them at the tail gate adding a slip in connection for the bed rails and added a brace that slides into the hitch receiver. Super bomber and puts some of that overhanging load into the hitch. This way rails stay in for season and the extension goes in for sled transport.

    good luck

I just threw my 155 rmk in my bed for the last few days without anything to help the tailgate, drive three hours without issue. I also ended up installing d rings in the front, drilled some holes, installed rivet nuts and did it that way! Seems like they’re holding up very well so I’m happy!
