The Company I work for replaced my 2023 Chevy Colorado with a 2024 Tacoma Sr5 that I had to pickup upon Houston and drive it back home to San Antonio. I have to say a huge improvement over the 22 I owned and a lot better than the Colorado. The powertrain, seating, ride, cabin noise is all better than 22 Tacoma I owner. The Colorado was only better in fuel mileage and that should get better after more miles. I have a 07 4Runner and a 2024 4Runner that I am curious about the 6th Gen 4Runner but was scared about the 4cyl engine but I am not now. I have two years till the lease is up on the 2024, so I will have 2years to try out the drivetrain.

Day 2 driving the new Tacoma.
Today I had to go back to work after the holidays. So I drove the new truck downtown to the office. It was a nice drive I am amazed the engine always is in the power curve. My Colorado was the 310 hp v6 it had more power but not in the right place and not as smooth. I then received a phone call the took me to our Austin office 1.5 hour drive. I played with lane trace it works good I did not let it drive without my hand on the wheel but just rested it on it was very relaxing. The adaptive cruise is so much better the my 3rd gen Tacoma, it was always hunting gears so I never used cruise. Adaptive Cruise was good in the Colorado but not as smooth. I watched the boost gauge and most of the time it was not under boost. I drive at the posted speed limit as I have GPs on the truck. The truck now has 400 miles and it is computing 24.2 I don’t know how accurate that is. I do notice the speedometer is 2 mile per hour faster than Waze. I don’t know what is more accurate. Seating is fantastic. I heard people complain about no power seats but once I get it set it will be there till I get a new truck. I do wish the back seat had hard plastic on the rear of the seat so when it’s folded down I can put boxes on it without worrying about ripping the material on the back of the seat. I have a soft trifold bed cover coming in Sunday wirelessly car play is nice and I ordered a wireless charger for MagSafe off Etsy.

I may be misunderstanding you since i've only had mine for a couple days as well, but the bottom part of the back seats do fold up with a cargo storage space underneath them that you can stack stuff on without any risk of harm to the seat material
