So, thought i'd make myself a thread to keep track of what i've done to my truck, also with the hopes of getting some opinions and suggestions and also maybe give other people ideas. Feel free to give your opinion, i will be adding to my list as i update things

So to start it's a 2006 Tacoma TRD Sport double cab long box that i picked up december 5th, 2020.
    When i got it:

I live in southern ontario so offroad trails are limited but there are lots of dirt roads, long driving, snow, and sometimes mud roads. I basically am just basing my truck for daily driving/utility as i like to go camping, play in the snow, hunt, and drive comfortably.

I like to build my vehicles based of 3 main components:
    -Lighting
    -Audio
-Eye pleasers/Utilities, they kinda go hand in hand.

So what i have done so far is:

    LIGHTING:
    The only other light I plan on doing is a Headlight service's wiring harness & osram superbright upgrade once i hear back from them. But;

    LUYED Reverse, DRL:
First thing i did off the hop was LED reverse lights and DRL's. I went with LUYED led's and i swear by them because they always impress me and i'ved used them on 3 different vehicles in the last 4 years and they never gave me a problem. Plus they're a projector bulb which really shines.
I've also added a resistor to each rear turn signal to prevent the hyper flash.

AUKEE LED H4, LUYED Fog Light (avoid):
Shortly after i wanted more, so i ordered LUYED fogs and Aukee LED H4's... not impressed with either. The fogs are terrible, sure they look nice matching the headlights but they have no cut off compared to the stocks and can barely tell they're on when you use them. I'll post a pic of the difference, my guess its because of the projector style LED that doesnt work in the housing. And for the H4's well, the highbeam is great.. i travel mostly empty roads which is why i used an led headlight, but the low beam is blotchy and maybe lights up 20ft in front of the truck..

Stock fogs & H4's vs LED fogs & H4's (notice you cant even tell the LED fogs are on)

    LUYED MAP & DOME Lights:

Both of these work great.. the maps are almost TOO bright, but i love being able to see.

    AUDIO:

Metra Double Din kit & Kenwood DDX470

I already had the radio laying around from my last truck so I ordered the adapter & dash kit before i even got the Tacoma in my name. Im a big fan of bluetooth and this radio has a built in amplifier which COMPLETELY changed the audio in my truck. Best upgrade i've done to it so far.

    UTILITIES/EYE PLEASERS:

    Tacoma Hard Top Tunneau Cover:
Wasn't a huge fan of the cover at first because its hard to get stuff from the back but im pleased with the ability to lock it which also keeps my tailgate up, adds a nice clean look to the truck too.

    WEATHERTECH Mats & Bug Deflector:
Every vehicle needs a set of weathertech floormats, luckily this one already came with them. I recently added the bug deflector to help prevent chips & i think it adds some nice black to the blue up front.

    TINT & Remote starter:
Probably 2 of my favourite things to have, the tint just tops it off with the black & blue, i went 5% brow & rear windows, 15% fronts so that i can still have some ability to see while reversing at night. (This is where the LUYED Reverse lights REALLY shine.. no pun intended)
And who doesnt love being able to start their vehicle from their bed in the morning in -25 weather

    WHEELS..?
So if you couldnt tell the truck is on winters, but i also have these:

I believe they're off a newer style 4Runner or something? Yes there are 5 and yes that IS an original BFG KO spare tire... not KO2.
Im pretty sure ths 4runners came with KO's from factory.

But that concludes my story so far, if you read the whole thing then you have too much time on your hands.. just like me, haha.

    UPDATE: February 21, 2021

So after lots if thinking and wanting an AAL for better towing, i decided to go with a full Bilstein 5100 set up using stock springs on the 2.5" setting and Tuff Country 1.5" - 2" AAL.

I'm interested to know how that suspension set up feels and what it does to your fuel economy. I know AALs can ride pretty rough with no load. Truck looks good!

It actually rides pretty good honestly. The AAL definitely made the ride a bit bumpier, small bumps on the road became more noticable but only in the rear. Surprisingly though, I hit a few very bumpy/rough train track crossings everyday to work and it takes the big impacts a lot nicer than it did before.
As for fuel economy i haven't really noticed much yet but i havent paid attention to it. I dont know if it'll change much unless i get a bigger tire. I just have winters on it right now
