Pretty sure that means oil is getting in the coolant, or your radiator is fucked. Did the level rise at all? If not then maybe you just have a really crudded up radiator or block

Smell the coolant and or test it/have it tested. Also, check the oil and don't drive it until you figure this one out. Could get really expensive really fast...

How did you get to this point ?

All of a sudden your coolant in the overflow is rust brown??

Then it might be the brown Milkshake of oil and antifreeze mix??

Toyota Red coolant mixed with the Green can turn a pretty rust brown .

It smells "sweet". That's why animals like it.

If you're consuming coolant that quickly then there is a big problem

Pull a sparkplug. If its shiny clean, its being steam cleaned, and that aint good.

May have to pull all of them. Gasket could be leaking in just one cylinder.

If the coolant level is dropping then it’s going somewhere. Could be anything from a radiator leak (which it sounds like it’s not) to a bad gasket like others are saying

Leaning towards bad head gasket cause of the loss of coolant and the possible oil getting into the coolant

Don`t ever rule out the heater core since OP had no idea of the smell

then it might drain out the evap drain you might never take notice
