    Hi Everyone,

    I was hoping everyone could share their favorite mods for skiing/boarding! I'd love to hear the random helpful things you've found, like sportbumper.com, or similar items. I have the bed cover and the KB rails with ski racks on them, and plan to get KO2s in the future, so I'm covered there!

    I just throw my board and gear in the bed and head to the slopes!

    I used to, but my skis started getting top coat dings so I switched to the bed rack

    I also use the bed. Put them in a padded ski bag diagonal (barely fit), bed mat underneath and a shell. haven't gone wrong yet. Don't see a point to the rack unless i had all my bed space taken. Much cheaper with a bag too

    That makes sense, I also just really like the look of the bars and the skis up there!

    It is a good look. I was more tempted to put them on my old station wagon because it was really easy to get to, but with the seats down it more than fit all my skis and gear. I usually bring 2 pair up with me, so i understand the need for a rack. I just usually bring my good ones and my used-to-be-good ones that go without a bag, but they haven't gotten damaged from the bed, even after 4 years of abuse.

    That's lucky! I usually have a few friends with me, and their boards tend to chip my skis more than the bed does.

    My favourite would be the BajaDesign dome light I put into the back for loading/waxing skis at the trails;

    Yah my snowboard is like 10 years old so I just chuck it in the back and hope it breaks so it gives me an excuse to get a new one. It’ll never break tho.

    Oh hell no. I make sure my good stuff is well protected, especially from the edges of other skis/boards. I usually wrap a towel around the ones that are just laying in the bed. Also I have my boots, poles, helmet and whatever else back there that I don't want dinging everything up, but I usually keep the boots in a boot bag, and a separate one for everything else. Better safe than sorry.

    Easy if you've added lights and understand circuits. I powered it from an add-a-fuse in the dash panel - the Dome kit has a switch right on it.

    Bed bars with a ski rack... works great for me.

    [IMG]

    My previous KB Voodoo bars started rusting, so I went with Mobtown and modified them to my liking. Here was the previous setup.

    I'm not a safety "NUT", but this photo makes me wildly uncomfortable.

    Haha I just found out about these today, which prompted my post. Idk how I've gone on this long without one of these for mine and my friends' skis/boards.

    I'll bet you that those bumpers will sooner cause a scratch/dent than prevent one. You're basically encouraging people to lean shit against your truck, but now, instead of doing it carefully, they'll trust the bumper too much. Wrong angle with the skies, board, gun or fishing rod, and you'll have a lovely arching scratch down your bedside.

    Unfortunately, my friends lean stuff on my truck, regardless of me telling them not to, so I figured I might as well embrace it. They also put the magnets behind the rubber, so the magnet itself doesn't scratch paint.

    The skis I have are solely meant for downhill, so unless I decide to get close and personal with a tree, the risk of anything breaking (for the skis at least) is minimal. I care about the stuff I paid for and it lasts me quite a long time.
