When I’m listening to youtube and an ad comes on music starts playing. I have to hit play to resume the ad then skip it. Usually there are two ads so it goes like this:

    1) ad pops up and music starts
    3) I resume the ad and hit skip
    4) music starts again
    5) another ad starts and I hit skip
    6) music starts again
    7) I hit play again to resume youtube video

    Any way to stop this?

Use YouTube music. Just log in with your YouTube account. It’s better and only for music. It is free and some adds but not as much as the other. Sound quality is good also, better then pandora / prime etc.

I use apple music. As soon as I get in the truck music starts playing. That’s annoying but I can deal with it.

$15 a month for YT premium is too much plus I already have Apple music

I don’t even want to listen to music most of the time. It starts playing as soon as I get in the truck if Bluetooth is on. Pretty annoying. The youtube ad, pause, music, ad, pause, music is driving me nuts

you need to stop and close the music from the phone. It happens to me too when I'm watching netflix, if I try and fiddle with the volume then the netfllix will stop and the music starts. You need to close the music player from the phone itself. If it's only paused it is still running in the background.

This is quite a first world conundrum. :) From the replies so far it sounds like OPs options are:

    1. Don't use a bluetooth connected device. (or select a different source FM/XM before exiting the truck.)
    2. Replace entune system with something better.
    3. Deal with it.

    That makes sense, I suppose.

My music app has comedy and podcast channels integrated, so I never thought about using the Tube.

I have youtube premium, so i dont get ads.

but. ive noticed that whatever i was doing last, youtube or youtube music, is what starts playing in my truck when i get in and turn it on.

where are these ads coming from? youtube? if you let them play through does the video continue playing?

All cars do this. If the stereo is on, it starts playing when the car is started. It will probably just pick the last music source. Just turn off the stereo and then nothing will play. I don't know if there is a way to leave it on and not have it play anything. You could maybe select a different source like USB and if nothing is plugged in then nothing will play.

No idea about ads. I use an ipod.

YouTube also allows you to upload your own music and play it ad free for free. I have something like 30K songs uploaded. True, it only plays my own stuff, but that's usually what I want to listen to anyway.

LiveX (formerly slacker). I've tried many music streamers, but I keep coming back to that one. I like the laziness of it having build a playlist for me, plus offline caching for those long road trips that go outside of cellular coverage.

You have to remove whatever id playing from the playlist or now playing queue.
It used to be easier when it was google play music, but now its almost impossible to find the right menu/buttons because of YT's janky ass interface. it can be done though.

this is why i went with google play music years ago. a lot of live recorded shows on my account.

since the switch to youtube music, my uploaded stuff is pretty difficult to navigate through.

i have a couple hundred songs, a few different shows, from one band uploaded. these shows/albums popped up with all the other music from this band when i searched for them on play music.

with youtube music, i have to swap to my uploads tab, then all the songs are in a list, not sorted in anyway.

    yours the same?

Yeah, Google play was better. Navigation in YT is a bit of a pain.
