Hi I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma non jbl. I instantly noticed the audio was awful, and the community seems to agree.

I added a bit of detail so here’s a tldr audio sounds like it’s on one side, move my head to middle of car and can hear both. Same issue both sides of car. Bought new audio, sounds the same maybe slightly better, not good enough. Tacoma users think this issue is likely because of poor placement/direction of tweeters. I found a custom tweeter pod that moves it to face you. However tweeter size is 31/2” my tweeters are 1” and are built in to swap with OEM speakers using same plugs and cables. Plugs to an amp the amp looks to produce 2 ohms. Idk how speakers or amps work, can I swap those tweeters for bigger ones without messing with my power. Also will this fix my issue. Audio doesn’t plug into amp like traditional red black, but into the wire harness from stock audio. A user on the form added mid bass in old tweeter spot and tweeters in the sail. Can I do that with mine or is that too much for amp?

I’ve posted previously and since then have gotten in contact with OEM audio plus, and retuned amp and no fix. They are clueless about resolving it.

all audio sounds like it’s coming from the side you’re on wether you’re sitting in driver or passenger. If I’m in the driver the audio sounds like it’s all coming from the left, I can move my head to the middle of my car then my ears pick up the audio on that side equally. Same in reverse for sitting in passenger. Bought new audio, sounds the same slightly better, sometimes it sounds equal for a bit then I notice it sounds very artificially even and that I can pinpoint I’m hearing the audio from my side mainly

I paid way to much for [OEM Audio Plus](https://oemaudioplus.com/toyota/tcd1600/) the full setup, single sub. Well I got it and installed it and the audio sounds better… but it sounds like the audio is coming from one side. I learned that this may be something to do with time alignment. Well the OEM kit comes with an amp and they sent me a tuner and still sounds bad. It sucks because the audio is good but the fact that all the sound seems like it comes from one side and not even in both ears it ruins the whole experience and makes listening to music suck.

I noticed that this was a common problem with Tacoma I had the same issue before and after… it’s possible that there’s an issue with my audio I guess but other people report it and same issue before and after and now it’s running through an amp. I think the tweeters location sucks. There’s some fix of people moving the tweeters to the sail [here](https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/why-does-the-audio-suck-in-the-3rd-gen-solved.666086/page-6) however they add a mid bass and a tweeter if I remember correctly

I found [these speaker pods](https://customspeakerpods.com/store...40rYHZOYpI2IS_-IYWbQOwNNQe0fqR6MaAhJcEALw_wcB) to move the tweeters to face the car.. but the problem is the kit has 1” tweeters and these are 3 1/2. The amp looks like it has 2 ohms can I get 3 1/2” tweeters without messing with my power flow idk how amps of speakers work tbh.. also what are the chances this fixes my issue
