Well unfortunately its not really an option, put a deposit on it for them to hold it. As they may always be free or damn near, they I'm sure they are always a PITA to move, too.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll report back when I get it moved, however that may be.

Just an update, the pool table move was a success. 5 guys for the removal and 4 for the move into my basement. We ended up just taking the legs off and moving the table and the slate all in one. We used moving blankets to slide it on the ground into pisition on the stairs, then one lifted it one step at a time until we could slide it up the stairs. Once we got it on flat ground we used furnature mover straps with shoulder harnesses and walked it into the trailer (highly reccomend these). Would have been a breeze with 4 guys and no stairs. Couple of small scratches on the table but no drwall was damanged. The light even went up right where an existing fixture was. Was thoroughly tested saturday night.

Unfortunately, pool tables are not designed to be moved in one piece. You'll need to disassemble all the pieces and reassemble them at the new location. But if I were you, I'd hire a man with van services. They'll know how to transport it to avoid damage. Another option would be to rent a moving truck. However, in this case, you'll need someone strong enough to load and unload the pieces. In both cases, you'll need money and tolerance. Even more so if you don't have patience with movings, like me xd. However, the first plan seems to have more benefits.

I'd hire someone to move the table piece by piece.

I’ve moved one before and the best advice I can give is to disassemble it as much as possible. Remove the legs and secure the slate carefully, as it's the heaviest and most delicate part. However, it might be a good idea to hire specialized movers. Just read on https://threemovers.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-move-a-pool-table/ about the aproximate costs and go on.
