Anybody have any experience with these DIY kits? https://www.movebumpers.com/toyota-bumper-kits
They don't have many pics of them on tacomas on their site. I like the idea of being able to brace it better in the places I see fit and customizing a little bit. I just hate mig welding any more. Would rather be tigging. Was originally looking at ARB. Most of the other brands are cut to high in front of the tire for clearance and to me they only look good with the right lift and tire combo, which I won't have on this truck but I gotta do something. Just hit my second deer in the little over 2 months I've had this truck. Luckily it hadn't made it to the body shop for the first hit yet.

Did I misunderstand that it's a do it yourself weld together?

Yep, thats the only way they sell them. You get the fabbed parts and then you take it from there.

For anyone that may be interested, the bumper itself sticks out from the emblem 4" and if you leave the 2.5" round tubing the length that it comes then it sticks out 9" overall. On the side, the end cap drops down approx 9 7/8" in a straight line from the body line. That was from the emails wit them.

Seems a bit expensive. I priced one out at $755 that I liked. I'm not a fabricator so I don't know. What would it cost to have someone weld it all together?

If you have the capabilities to design, cut and bend your own material then it is. But if you dont have the time to figure out the design and dimensions, then its kinda worth it to me. Or if you don't trust your brake operator to bend it right and end up wasting material.

Did find out that they only use the factory mounts(6 bolts). No other supports like other manufacturers. To me that's a lot to swing of just those 2 plates and I don't even plan to add a winch. So if your looking to go this route then be prepared to make some other parts unless your comfortable with the way it is. Has me leaning more towards the ARB, just so I don't have to do anything but mount it.

I got a price for one guy, said he would do the whole nine, including spray bedliner for $550. I guessing that's just black, no color match, but should be a "pro" job since his dad has a body shop. Not a rattle can from Lowe's. The other price I got on just the bedliner was $300 for the premium black, and $550 for a color match premium job.

So around $1300 total? I'd pass and buy one already complete for that kinda $$.
