I use 1/4" screen over cabin intake and engine intake.

    Try this.

But seriously if you park outside or your garage has mice there isn't a lot you can to do keep them out of the engine bay. Putting a screen over the intake and the cabin air filter opening will at least keep them out of those areas. I put down a few traps around my garage with peanuts hoping to catch them before they made it to the cars, seemed to work OK but could take a while if there's a whole family of them.

I've heard/seen (working on cars in the past) many remedies but haven't found one that works 100%. The ones I've seen are irish spring bar soap, mothballs (but your truck will smell like grandmas house), dryer sheets (need replaced somewhat often, maybe once a month?) and I've seen some people put mouse/rodent poison in the engine bay. But the poison doesn't kill them instantly and then they could die inside the dash and create a lot of headache removing the carcass....

I tried Mole repellent and at best it chased the moles away until it rained, then they were back. Now it's traps or one bite bait. With chipmunks, it's a live trap and pellet gun, no relocation. I don't want to make them somebody else's problem.

It sounds silly but an outdoor cat helps 100%. I know you aren't supposed to keep them outside and all but here in AZ packrats are a huge problem.

There is a special rodent repellent tape you can wrap around wiring.
You may want to look into that?
Other than that, all I know is to park where mice aren’t.
And I don’t know where that is?

I tried the Irish spring soap once and the little bastard just took it and put in his nest, that was cleanest little bastard till I caught him on a sticky trap.

You can find them, or their close relatives, in much lower mountains. I had one sleeping on top of the engine cover and would not move. Eventually had to send it into low earth orbit. Don't like to hurt chipmunks with traps, they are just curious. Mice eat anything in sight, kill them all, they'll make more. Also super destructive are ground squirrels. They eat floors, walls, wiring, gardens, everything. 10-22 Therapy for them.

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
    Couple tips:

1.) Keep the interior void of ANY food, food wrappers, crumbs. This will serve as attractant.
2.) Keep the interior void of ANY trash. This will serve as nest material.
3.) Park in an open area. Mice do not like crossing open spaces.
4.) Traps need to be placed OUTSIDE of the garage along a wall. Mice will travel along a wall. The trap bait will draw the mice outside of the garage.
5.) Screen or close off the cab's air vents.
6.) Use predator urine in the engine bay. Only need a little, their noses can detect a faint scent.
7.) Clear the garage of all food (human, pet or other) and trash.
8.) Hope none will venture to explore.

    Myths:
cats, irish spring, high frequency sound, flashing lights....

The mice are looking for their basic needs.....food, shelter. Remove both, then they look elsewhere.
