Prinsu roof rack, Body Armor 4x4 front bumper, Heretic Lighting 40" amber light bar, Heretic Lighting 20" amber light bar, LED lighting package, Black Rhino Overland wheels, 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers, Smittybilt winch, Shockworks flip up license plate mount, Retrax tonneau cover, Airaid snorkel.
I don't have an aftermarket rear bumper nor do I have a bed rack(yet). Is mounting my 33" spare wheel/tire to my Prinsu roof rack a viable option?? If not, why? If so, what are my mounting options?

    Thanks!

Why can't you just keep it where the spare is supposed to go? 33's should fit fine.

My 33 fits fine, just need to massage the brackets with a BFH.

So I only have a 2" OME suspension kit. You don't think reduced clearance will be an issue going on trails?

You could use a 255/80r17, or 255/85r16, as a spare for 285s. Roughly same diameter and doesn’t hang as low. Obviously not a good idea if you want to do 5 tire rotations but fine for a trail spare or to get you to a tire shop.

Sure, tire works. Just about anything can go up there, some people buy an “overlanding” roof rack and later realize they really didn’t have anything cool to put up there. Little black Plano boxes and even rooftop luggage hard cases work, just don’t put your kid’s suitcase full of crayons and other melty stuff up there! :anonymous:

Appreciate all the input, I'll just make it work where the spare typically goes. Thank you.

This is the way. Keep center of gravity low. If you ever need the spare, it'll be easier to access from below the bed than trying to finaggle it down from your roof :violent:

I’ve thrown one on top of my camper shell Prinsu for times when I go somewhere where I want to have a second spare. I Keep it in the rear so I can stand on the tailgate while lifting it up there, but still need to climb up on the Prinsu to get it positioned and tied down, and it pretty clear the Prinsu does not like the weight of the tire plus me up there. Becomes a contortionist job to keep my feet right above the Prinsu feet while moving the tire.
Truthfully, I don’t recommend it for liability reasons that if you get in an accident you do not want 45 or more pounds of roof top tire breaking loose and flying through rear window of any car in front of you
