    Howdy-

I'm running a a Prinsu TopRac + CabRac on my 2019 TRD OR Taco w/ Leer 100XR (5 ft bed). I've rigged a few solar panels into the TopRac, and am starting to build in recovery equipment into the CabRac.

I'd like to mount some Yakima Powderhounds and SupDawgs to the TopRac crossbars in the back (so that I can lay boards over the top of the solar panels when necessary). I can't use the traditional Yakima clamps, b/c the solar panels are flush with the sides of the bars. As such, I want to mount them directly to the t-slots.

My question is: does anyone know what the best hardware is to "convert" a 2 t-slot bar to a 1 t-slot bar? I could go ahead and just mount the Yakimas to one of the 2 t-slots on each bar, but they wouldn't be centered on each bar, and get a bit off-balance if you go that route. Any thoughts/suggestions?

    Also, I know I need a wash. :)

Hello! This is a bit belated but I'm working on the same thing. I have the Yakima Fat Cat 6 and there is an accessory kit called the Smart-slot Kit 2 that is basically a T bolt and spacer that the Ski rack mount on to. I am going to pick one up today. I found a forum where a user said he had to grind the bolts down a bit to fit the prinsu rack but then he had no issues.

I don't think using 1 t slot without the other should cause many issues. The weight of ski's should be pretty minimal from what a rack can hold and I don't foresee any insane forces that would affect the bars. If you were worried, I'd use the two "outside" t slots (so the front of the front bar, and the back of the back bar) when mounting so that they sort of even each other out.

Hopefully you got this figured out but if not, that is my suggestion. Yakima is backordered so you will need to call around to find them. Good luck!

Just ordered Yakima #8860085 "Replacement T-Slot Mounting Hardware for Yakima FatCat and Whispbar Ski Carriers" since the Smart-slot Kit 2 is sold out everywhere. The plan is to use the standard 1/4 carriage bolt through the mounting hardware instead of grinding the bolt. Will update when I receive the hardware.

I managed to find the Smart-slot Kit 2 locally and picked it up the other day. I can confirm that it does not fit the Prinsu tracks so I will need to either grind down the provided bolts or find a carriage bolt that of the right length and diameter. It sounds like places are slowly starting to get them back in stock. The local store I talked to had just got their shipment that day. I probably won't get to the fitment anytime soon but I'll try to update once I do.

My Tslot hardware didn’t come in time for our trip so used standard mounting hardware in the “offset” position. Turned out pretty well! Also clears my HF box nicely.
