Does anyone have mounting recommendations (specific bracket links and instructions) for securing a 20L military water jug in the bed of a Tacoma TRD?

Are there any decent brackets that secure nicely into the existing rails?

    Thanks for the link…

Our interim solution with tie downs and d-rings is pictured below:

I mount a 20 liter gas can in the rear corner of the truck using two steel loops mounted in the luggage rack. A ratchet strap mounts to the ring in the floor with the strap around the can. The forward loop holds the strap and the hook in the ratchet strap goes around the can into the rear loop. A ground cloth protects the can from possible damage. Simple attachment without requiring modification to the truck.

Made with cheap stuff from the hardware store and attaches to the bed rails.

I used a Smittybilt Jerry Can holder.
The top Jerry Can strap doesn't fit using a Scepter Can, so I use a regular strap.
I can still use it for a gas can if I want.

This is an old thread and mine is not intended to be used all the time, but I went real basic and with my setup, I think it works. I have a Diamondback cover and a scepter can just stands vertically under it. Bent a couple brackets, got some t nuts to mount it to the rail and had a couple mini quick fists I mounted just to grab the handle of the can. I could do some reinforcement to it but I think with my Diamondback being closed, I’m golden. IMG_4159.jpg IMG_4158.jpg
