I mounted a flag on the bed rail of my Tacoma. I did this a while back before flag day haven’t taken it off since! Haven’t had a chance to take pictures and post.

You'll soon have a self-proclaimed flag n_zi (like me) telling you that you're violating the Flag Code, etc etc. Tell him (it won't be a her) "isn't it great that God gave us a country where we can fly Old Glory anywhere?" and wish them a good day.

Good on ya! Keep 'er waving!

You need to at least raise it up high enough that it's not laying on the floor of the truck bed.

    See item b).

I whole-heartedly support displaying and flying the flag when it's done properly.

Looks great. Unfortunately that isn’t compatible with a bed cover.

Receiver mounted flag pole holders are readily available from many sources, or can be an easy DIY project.

Just secure it well so it doesn’t fly off on the highway almost causing an accident. I’ve seen that happen just recently. They didn’t use a flag pole, but instead a 2x4.

I like the receiver mount. Thanks! Need to find a double flag holder as we usually fly the Lone Star as well.

I don't know how people do it. The flapping noise and busy view in the rear view would drive me nuts

Tell ya what, if you assign the lesser members of your family the honor of flag bearer, drummer, and fife, you will absolutely destroy that black friday TV sale. My Nana can rattle out a call-to-arms that strikes fear in the hearts of the lesser prepared. You think you got a bead on that 30% off deli meats sale? Think again. Here comes Troop Lobster to fuck your shopping day UP. :oldglory::rockband:

I had a local shop fabricate this pole that mounts directly to my bed rack cross bars. When I drive around with it on, I just attach a tether from the top of the pole to the other cross bar so the pole doesn't wobble back and forth while driving. This is a great way to fly a flag if you have a bed cover!

BTW, 550/parachute cord works great as a tether. This can be purchased in any color and is fairly cheap.

I tell you what, you're absolutely right.

Like 99% of Virginia Tech forgets we're a senior military college with a 1200+ cadet regiment.

Every summer (the same week as move-in for the regular students) we were putting new cadets through their initial training.

The look of confusion and angst on so many peoples faces as 600+ new cadets and cadre march out on to the central parade field complete with rifles, drum corps, and multiple cannon salutes from Skipper always made me smile. They weren't ready.

Nah, the last portion of "High School Musical 3" was just really over the top. Really hope Zac Effron got an A in history class. :p

After careful consideration, I'm in on this trend. Just need to find a holder that matches up with my flag:
