Anyone rocking a motorcycle chock in their truck bed? Any brand and or install tips? I think @Speed Freek rocked one (I bought your bed liner so it's pre-drilled for one haha).

I want to start going to track days and am looking at ways to avoid having a trailer.

Looking for one for my Hodaka as well. Finally gonna get it running for some trails, and it's the one bike that fits in the bed

Your truck bed is a motorcycle chock. Roll it up a ramp on the right side of the bed, turn the wheel to the left once it's up, into the front left corner (behind the driver's side). The front wheel is chocked into the corner of the bed, put it on the side stand, it's on three points. Two straps to pull it forward and side to side, your done. Tailgate closes too. I did 12-15 trackdays a year with this setup, never an issue.

You a bad mamba jamba. I like it.

But usually this forum makes me spend money, I'm suspicious with this turn of events...

I loaded mine like below for the first time in February and didn't feel comfortable with the tailgate down. So played with a few options and decided to wedge the front wheel into the passenger right corner and lift the rear tire and wedge it on the driver side quarter panel/fender area and it keeps the bike standing without any straps..strap it down and that thing is not going anywhere. Must've done 7 track days this year and had zero movement and been transporting it recently to get fixed. Works like a charm, and you get more bed space for larger items like cooler, tent, canopy etc. see last photo.

I never liked the idea of carrying it with the kickstand down. I just tie mine in by the handlebars, compress the forks a little (not alot), and call it a day. If its gonna be bumpy, I'll run one over the back tire to keep the rear end planted.

Not sure what a chock would be needed for, bedside works fine.IMG_4665a.jpg

What ramps you guys use? Wide and walk it up? Ride it up? Full send?

Two ramps, throttle it up the right ramp, walk up beside it on the left. I've had my bike loaded and strapped by myself in less time than 3 guys loading a bike with a single ramp. You can use the ramps to weight your canopy too.

I have a set of the harbor freight ramps. I use a ratchet strap to the hitch to keep the one with the bike from sliding out.

Also keep in mind the length of the ramps. If they're too short you can high center the bike.

Be mindful of the side rails.

Their load rating isn't very high. Tie downs on the floor are more secure.

Hate to see a bike dumped if a side rail pulls out. Could make for serious seat foam pucker marks before you get stopped.

That dual exhaust out the tail of R1s makes me feel things... tingly things. Move aside thots, I'm looking at something important.

More seriously, I went into bikes knowing the Japanese sport bikes were all good, but the CBR600rr's tail exhaust really did it for me.

Alright so looks like I should need dual ramps and should be good. I already have a crap ton of straps and even the handle bar chinga thing for straps.

My truck is lifted so when I can't find dips/driveways I'll probably be pretty nervous. @0xDEADBEEF can you describe high center more? Like the center of gravity changes and balance gets whacky? Scrape/get stuck on bottom of bike? Dropping bike from elevation/breaks different stuff?

Scrape on the bottom and get stuck, which if it happens and you're not expecting it can put you and the bike on the ground.

I once loaded up someone else's cruiser and it hung up on the edge of my tailgate. It wanted to fall over but I managed to keep it upright and then back it down again so I could go find a hill to load with.

    Oof, roger that.

Hmmm, would hate to get ramps and find its not good enough when level. The CBR is on ohlins but stock height, truck has the OEM overload leaf removed but Wheelers 3 leaf AAL added. OEM leaf's are pretty tired + removed overload leaf + rear bumper weight = its not much much higher than stock (IMO, I don't have before/after measurements) so these vids of guys loading into full size trucks are probably right around my height as well. Guess we will see.
