So , Canadian Tire was awesome enough to hook me up with a set up their new A/T tires after I showed them the thread I made on their first gen tire because I was so happy with them.

That thread can be seen here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/motomaster-total-terrain-a-t3-canadian-tire.690014/

These new ones were just sent to me direct from Cooper in Findlay, Ohio and it was confirmed that yes , indeed these tires are made in house my Cooper Tire for Canadian Tire.

I have an extensive back round in tire testing and have owned Toyota 4x4's on 40" tires and dual cases , full blown tube chassis rock crawlers on red label sticky tires , race trucks for short course and everything in between .... I have tried just about every tire there is in one capacity or another and can confidently discern the difference between a tire that performs well , and one that does not.

This tire is suited for a truck (Like my Tacoma) that spends its life whippin around the city , and then heading out into the bush on the weekends to travel many KM on FSR's and mild wheelin here and there. I want a tire that is quiet on the road , Balances well , has good grip in the rocks and roots , as well performs well in snow... I do not expect a tire like this to do well in mud personally.

I will be mounting these up within a week and start some testing while there is still some snow in the mountains. I will be airing them down to the limits of bead retention and really putting them through the ringer.

These new tires have the 3 peak stamp and from looking at the sipes and ledges built into them , I expect quite a bit out of this tire given how well the older Motomasters performed.

Looking at the tread pattern , there is a lot of tech that has went into this tire and it is made by a world renowned tire manufacture , so again ... I have high expectations for this tire.

LT265/75R16 Weight = 49 lbs on an industrial scale

I've attached a couple pictures of the new tire in the mean time.

The Canadian Tire website reviews have been nothing but positive on these tires.

Nice. Wish I had these over the MM AT3's, I just had to swap my winters back on yesterday because they couldnt handle the cold.

Hopefully CT can keep this up and rebuild their image the public.

I've done K02, KM3, and currently on Wildpeak (my fav so far). I'll consider these MM/Coopers next. We'll see how pricing stands up. Thanks for the info.

I had to join up and post a reply to this thread because I found it very helpful. Based on the info provided and your previous review, I looked into these tires and decided to purchase a set of LT265/70R17s for my 2022 4Runner TRD OR to replace the stock Duelers right away after delivery (I can't believe that still today in 2022, Toyota continues to put these on TRD OR's).

I was a tire installation tech and salesperson in my college years. I've sold and installed hundreds of sets of tires and my experience has taught me that X, Y or Z "brandname" doesn't always mean "better". I've owned KO2 and have put +150k kms on Duratracs.

My weekdays are spent commuting back and forth to work along with buzzing around the city. My weekends are spent at my cottage, towing powersports equipment back and forth and adventuring around the FSR's with a little wheeling here and there. I live in Newfoundland where the weather is unpredictable and the road conditions are deplorable. I think these tires suit this purpose exactly and like you, I can tell some thought and tech went into their design. I chose them because they are designed by a reputable company, readily available if a replacement is required, backed up by CT and offered at a competitive price (~$50-100 less per tire to the competitor). I also have big expectations for these tires.

So far they behave well in snow, low road noise and look great on my new truck. Time will tell, but I think CT may have a winner here.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and review on them once you've had the chance to test them fully.

Boo ya ! Those look great in the 17’s

I’ve been loving them so far , still want to really put some miles on them before I come up with any kind of decent review but ones things for sure is they are smooth as butter on the highway and balanced really well.

I found a few old stories about Canadian Tire - looks like they went bust in the U.S. My guess is they were like an upscale Harbor Freight mixed in with a little Wal Mart/ Tractor Supply Co. Looks like you might be able to get them stateside, but not everywhere: https://www.utires.com/t/b/MotoMaster/

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of specific info on these that I can find? (eg. is the siping full depth? Weights? Tread depths between P and LT...)

Is there a website with more info?

    Thanks,

    Jay

Visit one of the local Cdn Tire locations. Someone there might have the info. Otherwise contact Cooper. But I think PattyJack's post is a good review.

Id be willing to say at this point that these have been some of the best tires I have ever ran, and I've ran almost every top 10 tire there is ... They are wearing so nice and even as well even my mechanic was impressed.

They are still super quiet on the road and just excel in every condition I have put them through thus far , I'm sitting here trying to think of any downside on these tires but cant really say there is one for me other then thick mud , but that's a given since this isn't a mud tire.

    Snow - Check
    Loose gravel FSR - Check
    Highway - Check
Highway covered in rain - Check
Highway covered in snow - Check
Shale sharp rock trails - Check
Rooty / Rocky / Muddy trail - Check
    Sand - Have not tried

I've had these things through all the seasons now and put a LOT of highway , Trail rides and loads of FSR KM's on them and I just have such confidence in them now and they ride almost like a Michelin on the highway , especially rain covered highways, these are by far some of the least dangerous tires I've even had on a pickup truck in the rain.

All around i'm a very happy camper with these.

    Thanks for this update!

I'm looking at getting these in 265/70/17 and realized that the P rated are quite a bit less "beefy" than the LT version. 13/32 vs 15/32

Look at the lug difference, therefore, I'm going to go with the LTs.

I'm replacing my P rated Toyo ATIIIs that I put on just a couple of years ago. Went with P to save the weight. However, should have gone with the LTs for the extra tread depth.

Will give my review going from Toyo ATIIIs to these :)

    Cheers,

    Jay

    Any update?

I was going to go with p series 265/75/16 wildpeaks but these x trails are on sale 25% this week and they’re LT.

I ran load E ko2’s on my 2nd Gen and left them at 30psi for years and found they weren’t too stiff.

I'm super impressed with these tires! They are more quiet than my previous Toyo AT3's. I keep them at 40psi so they are slightly more harsh when hitting potholes or rough patches of road (vs P rated AT3s), but they are super smooth on the highway. I drive about 120km round trip to my local ski hill every weekend and they have handled everything that's been thrown at them. Obviously the only thing they aren't that great at/on is ice but no AT tire really is.

    LT 265/70/17 on 8.5' 0mm offset wheels:

Given the price of these tires, I will 100% be buying them again over any of the previous decent tires I've had (Duratracs, Toyo AT3)

@jaymac10 i have the same tire size and am finding little to no info on PSI to run these LT265/70/17 at on my 2015. I have them set at 35psi now, up from the 32 that the shop installed them at. How is the tread wear at 40psi? I only have ~300km on the set, so would like to have the PSI intel from other x-trail users before they start to wear. I plan on doing a chalk test, but the roads are wet at the moment.
