Hello all, I'm in the market for a midsize truck and am concerned about which is the most environmentally friendly. I don't know a ton about emissions but it seems that although the Ridgeline has better mpgs the Tacoma has a better smog rating, both trucks suit my needs fine. would anybody care to shed someight o
n which is the most environmentally friendly?

    Thanks! :oldglory:

There both as clean as they are gonna be one or the other won't make much of a difference on the environment. Just decide what truck best fits your needs or wants.

Take the hatch off of a Prius.
Other than that.... all of the mid size trucks are equally on economy and environment.

Particularly around the 7 minute mark
Even if you went full electric it's not going to dent the environmental crisis at all. Let alone the difference between two gas vehicles.

I have it on good notice that a lot of recyclables in my area are just being dumped in the landfill. Apparently the bottom has fallen so bad out of the market in the last 8 months that it's not worth trucking them 400 miles away to be sorted for market.

I really don't get why people have a problem with better fuel economy or less impact on the environment. Better fuel economy leads to better performance. As much as y'all bitch about more power, you should like more efficiency.

The whole "you bought a truck, you shouldn't worry about economy" argument is fucking stupid. Just because someone wants fuel economy doesn't negate that the fact also want/need a truck.

I want a 572 Big Block Chevy in a 1966 Chevelle... Sure, I want it to be running as efficient a possible.

I'm sure some of it is sentiment against the overzealous environmental nut jobs.... Still, many of those environmental laws has reduced the amount of smog in cities like LA. Other places in the world don't have our laws and look at the smog in Mexico City or in China. Environmental laws are a good thing in general.... sometimes they overreach, but in general.... I want clean water, clean air, clean earth. People that don't want those things might as well join the flat earth society.
