Thinking about replacing my headlights on my 17 Tacoma to LED ones. I'm looking at either the Morimoto XB's or O.E.M. LED headlights? Which one would you go with and why? What are pro's & cons's of each one. I see that the Morimoto's are 15% off right now at Tacoma Lifestyles. Thanks you guys!

I just went through this same decision. I went with OEM LEDs with @daveeasa plug and play conversion harness. I also made my decision after reading through @crashnburn80 comprehensive light review. I’ll find a link and post, but essentially the OEM ones are the best performing ones out if you want LED. Morimotos are decent but better than most other stuff out there. The 15% off price is a pretty good deal. Good luck

    Good read.

I went OEM as well. No regrets <3

XB v2 is actually more output (higher current draw and more emitters) so it’s a reasonable option.

Someone should bug Crash to put the xb v2 review into the third post.

I went OEM and would again today.

Where's the best place and price to purchase the OEM ones at?

I found a good price at Sparks Parts
    https://www.sparksparts.com/

there’s a YouTube review of the oem headlights that had an additional 5% off code (chloekuo) at checkout.

    NON TRD Pro LED Headlights
    81110-04290(Right LED Head Light)
    81150-04290(Left LED Head Light )

    TRD Pro LED Headlights
81110-04300(Right Head Light that says TRD)
81150-04300(Left Head Light That says PRO)

Asked dozens of times in the mega thread. No obvious / easy answer. Most options are pretty close. Local dealer eliminates concerns about broken tabs. Price plus shipping is the game.

For some reason I thought I had done that, but apparently not. The v2 Morimotos do have higher output intensity than OEM LED, but they lack uplight in the pattern like OEM lights have, which makes the cut off very vision limiting to the driver where it is just blackness beyond the low beam cut off. That and the build quality in the v2 wasn’t great either. See post #4548:

I feel really guilty asking you to do more since you’ve done so much and you should be playing with your JT for the summer anyway.

But I feel even worse trying to convey the same information with my limited understanding of it, your language is always so precise and factual that I’d rather just share a link.

Maybe you can just add a pointer real quick to the review from post #3? It’s a little hard to find in the thread if you don’t know about it ahead of time.
