In the process of installing a d2s 5.0 projector into my blacked out stock 2016 TRD offroad headlights. I can't seem to figure out why the bracket (RQ Hardware kit: Koito RX350 d2S 4.0) doesn't fit? Does the retrofit kit TRS sells come with a bracket just for the d2s 4.0 and is it different than the 5.0 I'm trying to install?

This part I colored in with blue hits the sides of the projector and it won't let me attach the bracket to the housing.

The last photo is what I was sent. Is this the correct bracket? PLEASE HELP!

    Did you try asking TRS?

I’d Dremel it and move on personally... :sawzall:

When I did my Rx350 swaps I had to dremel quite a bit of material off the stock housings for the high beam solenoid. I wouldn't be scared of making a slight mod to those adapter plated you are using. Considering how much time it takes to remove the permo-seal from the housings, I can understand wanting the projectors to fit perfectly.

    Best of luck

The main reason I went with these is the ease of install (at least I thought it would be)

Looking at the pictures online of the d2s 5.0 with the brackets mounted on it seems my holes/fasteners are in the wrong spots....

The RX350 brackets are for RX350 projectors, not for the Morimoto Mini D2S series.

These are the brackets the The Retrofit Source sent with the retroquik kit for a Tacoma headlight.

    Maybe I'm just overthinking this....

There is no RetroQuik kit for third gen Tacomas.

Mine just screwed onto the housing. I do have a 2nd gen though so that may be why it was substantially easier than yours.

Yeah, I just looked and noticed that. I don't have any experience with those. Strange.

Well... LMK how it goes. LOL!

Got a response back from TRS

    "Hello!

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, You would need to drill out the rivet that is not allowing the bolt to pass-through. We are aware of the issue and making-changes. My apologies for the inconvenience."

Anybody else have this issue with the D2S 5.0s or is this just a bad batch?
