Ok I’m interested to hear if anyone else feels like or has experienced the lack of caring Morimoto has for their existing and repeat customers. Let me elaborate.

First off let me list my products:

    •3 sets of 2banger pods
•3 switched input harness for each individual set
•two 4 bangers in my back bumper
    •HXB headlights Orange DRL
    •HXB fog lights
    •HXB taillights
    •8 RGBW rock lights
    •Boost bar

Now whenever I phone them, all Reps see my account and that I spend a lot of money with them and I’m a repeat customer. However, I’ve called 6 times in a little over 1 year and I’ve had one person be polite, actually help me, and the call went the way a normal one should…

Example - all of the $100 individual 2 pod switchback power harnesses anyone has bought for their banger pod lights don’t matter anymore when you decide to make a bangerbar out of all of them. You have to literally buy a new “Banger Bar Harness” for it to work correctly….for $280(keep in mind you already have to buy a connected for each light to connect them-$35 a piece and then the end mounting feet $40 as well as a middle foot -$20). There’s no accommodation or thought to somehow make a way for people who already have the pods and these very expensive harnesses to catch some kind of monetary break… so instead, if you want a banger bar you can pay up on all those parts and the $300 harness or buy. Already assembled Bangerbar for $1000- $3000 depending on what you choose….cool

last example although I could keep going….
    - I buy 2 separate sets of rock lights, both were 4 packs. When I try to wire them in each wheel well, both times there’s not one with long enough reach to reach the furthest back wheel well(rear passenger). So I call and ask why because I literally have the shortbed 3rd gen Tacoma and they respond with “idk but an extension is $25 if you want to order it”….you can’t get a supervisor and you either eat it or gather it all back up and return it, only to pay for shipping yourself and a hefty restock fee.And also, the second set of 4 lights I had a professional lighting install shop do for me and it didn’t reach once again…so no user error.

If I had to start over again I would’ve chosen a different manufacturer. Morimoto has awesome lights and they’re very bright. But, you pay top dollar for that product. I live in Athens which is 45 mins from their headquarters in Atlanta so I chose them for that reason also which makes no sense lol…as if I’m going to drive there and walk in to demand help or service….im posting this to ask if anyone else has experienced anything like that from Morimoto and also so anyone about to drop the cash to buy anything from them is aware of how they treat repeat customers who have spent thousands of dollars with them consistently.

Diode Dynamics and Rigid seem good

never had stuff from other light companies like Baja Designs etc.

I don't think Morimoto specializes in off road lighting. The above do.

    not warranty

I definitely am going to be trying out others I’m just not cool with spending thousands with a company and them literally not caring at all or honoring a warranty….as far as specializing in off road lighting though….they definitely do now, but I don’t think they used to….over the past couple years though they’ve shifted…check their website.

so obviously I didn’t say anything about vandalism when I called them I just gave that info for understanding on this post….they didn’t even ask what it was from….and yes I have insurance who dealt with it…my point was that it was so small that it should’ve been covered….and brother as far as universal goes…what happens is you go on their website and it explains that they are long enough to reach back bumper on a full sized truck….this is a shortbed Tacoma…….and asking me if I contacted them completely shows that you didn’t read and comprehend very well after the first paragraph states I’ve called and spoken with them on 6 occasions…..come on man……my issue with Morimoto is they don’t do anything to even borderline resolve any issue I’ve found or even heard of from others as well….amd they don’t accommodate their existing customer base. You buy the product for top dollar and it’s a great product as far as the lighting strength and power go…..but God forbid you run into any problem afterwards…they’ve got your money so it’s over at that point

What I’m telling you dude is they never asked what caused the small crack and I never said anything or told them what caused it….there wasn’t a lie to believe. I only added that info in this post to say “Thank God for insurance”….but in my opinion I think something as small as it was and the fact that the entire light still worked fine should’ve been a warranty replacement…they’re saying if any single thing happens at any point to the lens it isn’t covered…..think about that….its a headlight that almost costs $2000 when it’s all said and done and has a “lifetime warranty”stamp on it….

and I’m sure people do it all the time but let me say this….im not going to come on a public forum and speak negatively about anyone or any company that I haven’t spoken with and tried to work with on multiple occasions….im also not going to blame them for my own faults….i own a business myself. I think the fact that neither of the 2 reps I spoke with about the warranty claim I wanted asked me what caused the damage only further shows that they don’t care.

Lmfao... here's the cliffs notes version of the original post, for those who don't want to read it till the end.

Pisses off employee, who then vandalized his truck.

Lied to Morimoto expecting them to replace shit that wasn't their fault to begin with.

Writes 4 paragraphs of whining because he spends so much money and expects to be treated like Paris Hilton.

Is it? I wasn’t asked, so a lie didn’t occur. And no action was taken so again a lie never occurred nor was anyone being mislead…what’s fraud? My reason for stating that was the fact that they didn’t ask…and it was so small it really would be something you’d think they’d cover….regardless that’s what Insurance is for….

You tried to get them to cover under warranty damage from vandalism, without disclosing said vandalism. Failure to disclose is fraud, whether they paid out or not. You tried to get money out of them that was NOT owed to you.

    Pro tip...

If you had any conversation with Morimoto that even remotely had anything to do with warranty... on headlights that were damaged by vandalism...

    ... You lied.

I don't mean this in a bad way
but I, a born english speaker who is literate (typing to you right now), works with words, understands music lyrics, and has read a book before

struggles to read what is written above
a lighting company probably does as well

FWIW, it can be easy for a company to spot what is warranty, and what is not (outside influence)
whether they tell you or not
at which point, it either gets covered. Or does not (found not to be warrantyable)

There's no opinion. It's not warranty.

Words have meanings. They mean things. Warranty means warranted against manufacturer defect. Somebody kicking your headlight is not mfg defect.
They probably even have QC inspections prior to sale.

Wow, OP outed himself for being a piece of crap person.

Then tries to play victim because his fraudulent attempt wasn't covered.

Mind you, that crack could've happened from a rock you got struck by on the freeway so you bet your ass they shouldn't cover you.

    Are you a moron?

Wow here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to remove that one of three examples because clearly we’ve got a small competency issue with why I said it…to begin with….I was saying it to make the point that we didn’t even make it far enough in our interaction for them to ask what happened to cause it….ill explain the reason I was on the phone with them to begin with…..it wasn’t to ask about warranty for the headlight…I called them because they’re website wouldn’t allow me to update my billing address while trying to buy my friend a third brake light replacement for a gift….i asked the rep about it and only got to explain there was a small crack and the plastic bracket broke and was immediately shut down…….you're now accusing someone you don’t know of fraud that never occurred. Meanwhile the kid that dropped out of school is attempting to provide a forum for adults with a common hobby/love/ownership of Toyota Tacomas with “cliffnotes” AKA a summary of this post…..which literally addressed probably 1/5 of what was spoken of….someone else is telling me I should call them for help instead of make a post about….the fact that I called them for help multiple times and didn’t receive any…….you guys are what’s wrong with modern day society and americas new culture…..its really disappointing.

I’m going to remove that one example and just leave the other two, I hope they don’t become as trivial as the one in the middle has been….

lol…..the fact that all of you are so hung up on that and fail to acknowledge the other 75% of what was said also speaks for itself….and this is at least helping me get my post count up so I can sell some of these new in box parts I don’t need on the forum….gotta find the positivity in everything!

Had to warranty my headlights due to stress cracks and the finish chipping off on the lens. I had no issues with the experience.
