So this past weekend I went to Moonlight Racing Offroad park in Sullivan, MO to do some trail riding. Something I've always wanted to do but was too nervous. So I called ahead and asked if there were trails that were nice and easy for a cruise through the woods. The guy assured me that he takes his 2wd Blazer through all the time.

So my wife and I drive to the park and the entrance is about as rough as I was wanting to handle. You have to drive through a creek just to get the where you pay to get in. I was greeted at the front handed a map and told probably the easiest trail that they had called the Green Mile or something of that ilk. Gave the man $20 for an entrance fee once I handed the money over he asked if I had the E-locker, I said yes, he said yeah you should be fine. That got me a little worried.

So I find the trail head its and immediate uphill climb with loose rocks but the truck preformed beautifully. It flattened out and had some little wash outs which is what i was looking for, something not stress inducing since I was and hour from home and driving my daily driver through the woods.

Well unfortunately the trails are not very well marked out, I may have ended up going through a medium difficulty trail. This consisted of trails that are washed out right down the middle so they are shaped like a V. by this time i was getting nervous and just picturing my truck on its side. Then we ended up a creek crossing that have very high banks enough so that we had to get out and stack rocks to try and avoid hitting my front bumper we made it through by dragging my rear bumper across the ground.

So here we were lost in an off road park with a stock Tacoma not knowing where to go with no cell service. Lucky we ran across so regular that helped us out of the woods but not before we came across a mud pit. There was and option to go two ways through the big one that I watched the guys leading us out go through. They had a 4WD Blazer on 38's and mud and water was nearly to the top of their tires... so a no go for me. I opt for the smaller one, got a little head of steam and splashed in and stopped. Stuck in the mud. The look on my wifes face was priceless. The mud was up to the bumpers, I engaged the E-locker and with a little gas and rocking the steering wheel I was able to get out. And finally it was smooth sailing from there to get out of the woods.

A few things I learned, my wife is a good and beautiful spotter, she was calm and cool while I was cursing at myself. My truck has some new trail pin stripes, she earned them. Lastly, this truck is a freaking breast. I am so impressed by it, enough so that I had to come on here and brag.

Made it back to the camp site after our 2 hour tour so amped up I just had to have a few beers to calm myself down and celebrate that we would be getting home without the assistance of a flat bed.

If you made it this far thanks for reading. I think I got that kind of off roading out of my system until i can buy another Tacoma and make this one a dedicated rig. Already trying to convince the wife I should get a high clearance rear bumper

You'd be surprised what your truck can do... especially with an experienced driver. I say: keep taking it out and log some hours playing on the trails. See what it can do, but never go beyond your level of comfort. You'll see that eventually, the "difficult" areas you've been through will be a cake walk later on.

Yeah I would like to but I need to wait until this truck isn't a daily driver. I had adrenaline going and a pit in my stomach at the same time it was definitely fun but the worry my truck wouldn't make it home was too much
