It's always boggled my mind how there are dozens of toys of every other truck out there except for the 2nd gen Tacoma's. Why is it that one of the most bad ass off road trucks in the world doesn't have any Models, Toys, or RC bodies?

I've seen a 2nd gen body kit online somewhere, can't remember what model RC it was for though.

I'm currently building a 1/16 scale crawler that's based on the old Toyota pickup. It's wannabe model grade - plastic driveshafts and axle parts. But there are metal upgrades available.

I was hoping to find a 3rd gen dbsb with the Sport/pro hood. Oh well my wife knew I needed something to do with the stay at home order. She picked this one up at hobby lobby and used a 75% off coupon! FYI reg price? $29.99

I’m going to improvise a little....

Gonna make some smoked headlight covers and got a blazing blue like color for the body panels and I’m shooting all the chrome black.

So there are a couple options for tacoma bodies for RC. Proline's new "Metric" series body is technically not a 2nd gen Tacoma (since its unlicensed) but it might as well be. With 3d printed parts guys get them to look very similar. The metric body is supposed to be loosely based off of 2000's mid sized trucks but can look quite convincing as a taco

They only come in access cab style though.

There is also a guy that 3d prints complete bodies, he sells a 3rd gen tacoma there as well as a really nice 4 runner body among many others.

Take a look through the bodies on his website, scroll down to pics and videos and prepare to be amazed.

I was thinking about ordering a body from him and building it on an Axial scx10 chassis

Just noticed this one too...

    Damn you!
I have a hard enough time trying not to spend money on Tacoma parts and then you do this to me?
Wow. I’m shredding my credit card before I do something stupid and buy some remote control truck, scrap the body and order this!

Here is a picture I have posted before of my 1st gen rock crawler and my 1:1 2nd gen. Would love a 2nd gen body...

RC folks—I dug this RC10 out of my childhood room. It’s not an RC Tacoma, but it’s going to be fun getting it going again. Do any of you run the older RCs?

edit: okay, oops, just found the massive RC thread on the forum. I’ll go play over there instead of cluttering up this 2nd gen RC thread.
