Seeing as 09+ Tacoma's have electronic boosters for the brakes. Can I still use my old mityvac handheld vacuum pump to flush the brakes by myself? Or is there a different procedure to get it done correctly?

I understand that I can have someone press on the brake pedal with the vehicle in the on position to take advantage of the electronic pump doing the work, but what if I dont have an assistance? Thanks in advance.

Also read somewhere on the forum about being required to access the Toyota program on a computer to cycle something? Any truth to this?

Likely needed to flush the ABS module, for a complete true flush you bleed the base system, aka master cylinder to calipers then activate the ABS bleed which pushed the fluid out the ABS pump and refills it with new fluid from the reservoir, then rebleed the base system to remove the old fluid that was in the ABS pump thats now in the brake lines.

Yes. To completely bleed, you need diag tool. It will open wheel circuits and tell you which wheel to bleed.

Be careful tho. If you run the pump too long, you may damage it.
