    Hi Everyone!

First time here so please let me know if I miss any important info...

My 2004 Toyota Tacoma (v6, prerunner) check engine light came on about month ago, just in time for registration renewal and emissions testing. AutoZone tested my truck and it returned a misfire on the 6th cylinder. I watched a few videos, purchased an ignition coil, and replaced what I though to be the correct coil. Light went off, I passed emissions, all was good to go.

A week or so later, the light came back on.

With the recent holidays, I let this slip down my priority list. Yesterday, on my way home from work, I noticed my RPM's seemed a bit low, it was difficult to accelerate, and my truck was running ROUGH. Now I'm thinking either...
    A. I replaced the wrong ignition coil for the corresponding cylinder or
    B. I need to replace my spark plugs and wires next.

I also came across this diagram and wanted to know if it's accurate; does the middle passenger coil pack (shown as 5 in the diagram) connect to the 6th cylinder? Am I understanding the diagram correctly?

Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide!

Cylinder #6 connects with the coil of cylinder #3. It is critical to respect this diagram to keep the proper cylinder firing order (1-2-3-4-5-6).

you might wanna do a pressure check. Had this happen before, changed ignition coils, spark plugs ect, ended up being a failing head gasket that was leaking coolant into the cylinder.

needless to say, head gasket failed while driving off road lol.

Is the problem more or less noticeable cold vs warm
Does you truck have a gas or running rich smell?
Do you hear any tapping, or tapping when giving it gas?
