Hey so im curious about the midnight black metallic color. Im in the middle of nowhere Alaska so i havent been able to get an actual visual of this color (cant really tell through pictures).
My question is it black with flakes? Kind of like the magnetic grey metallic? I have a magnetic grey and im about to order a mismatched leer camper shell. Im looking for black with flakes hoping the midnight black will match up nicely
    Thanks

They use the color on the Tundra, 4Runner and I’m not sure what else. You should be able to see one of them on a dealer lot. It’s a cool color but I would make darn sure the topper matches.

Bad color choice for Alaska, where there is lots of dirt and grime.

Thanks but truck is actually in Alabama

Im about 500 miles away from closest dealer. I plan on mismatching on purpose. Magnetic grey truck and probably going with midnight black topper.
I just havent seen a midnight black in person (and no chance of seeing one where im at). I figured it was black with flakes just wasnt sure. Now i know
Thanks for the info and input everyone

Would you like me to get you a pic? I can get one posted in the next couple of days. I may have a pic on my phone from the last state fair.

I just picked up my Tacoma Off Road on 1-1-20 in Midnight Black Metallic. It's not just black at all. I have had multiple people say... "It's not black it's blue!" It's a truly gorgeous color with all the metal flake being blue. In the sun it's dark blue, in the shade it's black. I love it.

    Welcome to TW!

I wouldnt say that its dark blue in the sun, but you can definitely see that blue metallic more when its hitting the sun. I love black just a bitch to keep clean.

    My 6th black vehicle, haha!

In pics, it looks black to me for sure.

This. But the blue flakes are only noticeable up close in direct light.

Yes, looks super cool, when ceramic coated/ waxed. Think there is some dark green in there as well, i might be wrong tho.

Our 4runner is midnight black metallic. In overcast/shade it appears as just a nice, deep black. With direct sunlight and close inspection, you'll see that the metallic flake in it is actually dark blue. No one will look at it and immediately think it is any color other than black.

Took this when I first bought it to try to show off all the different colors in it. It's a brat to keep clean but looks awesome.

Yea, i waited about 8 months to do it. I didnt even know such thing existed, untill my coworker mentioned it to me.

I always used to detail and wax all my vehicles every 2-3 months, so this ceramic coating made total sense.

I did some minor paint correction and did the coating last july, still looks good, water beads like crazy. I might redo it this summer, we will see after winter.

You can still do it, just will take longer to do paint correction. Would highly recommend it man, you can do all yourself. The biggest thing is you need bright, clean area to do it.

I live in a condo so, i waited for a cloudy day and did it in my parents driveway, came out 90% perfect. It actually protects from minor scratches and makes the paint looks so shiny.
