Four days and three nights of bang'in around in the upper peninsula. Amazing camp sites with some rough wheeling to get (to some of) them. Other than human feces, toilet paper, trash and such everywhere (even remote sites) it was beautiful. Did some mountain biking, hiking and reading. Michigan needs to do something abought the mess! Disgusting!

    Missile site camp site!

Setting up the hammock. My daughter sleeps off the side of the truck in a nice Hennessey hammock... wife and I sleep in the bed.

Creek crossing on the way to Keystone Bay. This was a literal goat track through the woods. Narrow and rough-had to take the bikes off the rack and tuck them in the bed as the trees were too close. Must have been made for UTV's as it didn't have much room for full size vehicles.

Wonderful site and beach to ourselves. lots of trach in the trees though...

Honestly, Michigan should be embarrassed at this mess... think I will call it the Poopweenaw...
never seen anything like this degree of unsanitary conditions and lack of respect anywhere else in US I have visited.

High Rock Bay sucks, tell your friends!

But seriously that is a great place to camp and get away from it. I can't say I saw a lot of trash when I was there but the TP was there. With how big overlanding has become I can't say I'm surprised. My father-in-law was out there only 3 years ago and said he pretty much had the entire site to himself. Definitely couldn't say that any of the 3 nights I've stayed there. I'd still go back!

Nice set up! Riding is closed down too because of lawyers and risk management folks... Sadly Copper Harbor is fighting for what made it happen there, and the people who benefitted are fighting to close it down. Makes no sense to me. The only place that we had a crowd was at High Rock... everywhere else we had to our selves. I was just sad at the mess... this is close to home for me.

Thanks! We usually stay in Marquette but decided to check out Copper Harbor the last 2 years.

Yeah it all depends who you talk to up there. I saw all the double black diamond trails were shut down per orders of Keweenaw County but also some of those trails go through private property. They also had to extract someone on a backboard off of a blue square trail when were there. There was a bit of a crowd anywhere we went but it definitely wasn't bad at all.

Oh yeah, lots of it! We make a point to go twice a year. I believe there are more trails in Marquette than in Copper Harbor.

The Marquette north Trails have less people generally but you don't run across a lot of people on them in general due to the size.

Yeah guys, amazing trails in and around Marquette and the greater Marquette county area. Great community as well. Check out quickstop bike shop and talk to Eric the owner. You won’t be disappointed.
