    Hello TW
According to Consumers Reports, Michelin x-ice XI2 is the best rated truck snow tire. However, it appears to be discontinued and no longer available. My mechanic is suggesting x-ice snow SUV. That tire is available in my size (despite being labelled as a car/suv tire). However, Michelin's own website states that this tire DOES NOT FIT my vehicle. 265/65/17. Who is correct, my mechanic, or their website?

Any thoughts or experience with Michelins, and how these two would stack up against each other?

It's slowly taking its time, but I havent seen the xice2 for trucks this year, only the new SUV. I'm a tech in Calgary.

Basically, michelin is the best value and all around tire. They don't perform as well as the blizzak, hakka 9 or gsi5 but they last waaaaaaay longer and stay quiet.

We just got our first snow fall so I havent tried them yet but I would 100% recommend them, infact I didnt like how long it took for the xice2 to be replaced.

Next you can go a size skinnier for your winters for better traction if you want, its also cheaper.

You'd go 245/70R17, its the exact same diameter, but more narrow. My friend ran them on his tacoma for years and was happy.

To add onto this I was really happy with my Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3s in stock size on my 2016 TRD OR. Had Michelin X-Ice for my Civic though and they were decent enough, didn't get stuck once. Moved onto to General Grabber Arctic LT this year - we'll see how it goes.

Thanks! My concern is that Michelin itself is telling me that this tire is not for my truck. Sizing, load info seem to be correct, would there be any other reason for it to not fit?

Edit: or is it just a glitch on their website?

Their database might be off. I would try tire rack or 1010tires to see if that helps you feel more at ease.

I've installed Xice2 and SUV on many tacoma and 4runner.
