I'm looking on Rock Auto & there's Original line & Supreme. Supreme has a protective coating & has a blurb about meeting OE standards. It'd be about a 50.00 dif for both sides. Not sure which way to go. Anyone have any input? Doesn't have to be Mevotech. I just keep seeing that brand referred to favorably on here.

I've used them. I can't tell the difference from factory. The paint or whatever coating they put on them looked a little thin so I just added another coat of Rustolium. I brushed it on and it still looks fine. I think it's been about 4 michigan winters ago.

I don't honestly remember, but knowing me it was most likely the standard duty. The heaviest off roading I do is forrest trails. I most likely would not have been needing a heavy duty part.

I have needed bushings for a very, very long time & if I am correct, I believe the right one is so in need that it is causing the axle to not sit in it's correct position. In fact I was going to start a post on this later. Anyway, I back & forthed about trying to do just the bushings, however I have oh so much on my plate.

Passenger side cam bolts were pretty easy. Driver's side is yet to be seen. Should know in a bit. I am doing the uca's as well. Now those bolts I'm worried about. Also the housing? for the shocks have been deteriorating. No holes, however they have thinned (I have removed lots of scale despite the wool wax). We need to "talk" (pm) about welding options at some point soon, if that's ok with you. Best options for my budget that'll meet my objectives, etc. A little down the road though, so I don't get distracted by that right now though. Shiny objects & all....

Kristi with a K. Love your name. EX gf has that name. Always loved it. Lol.

Why not have the old bushings pressed out and do whitelines?

The standard uca's you are talking about are good. I ran them for a few years but i ride hard on them. They lasted a few years

I sure would like to see some pictures.

I have difficulty believing the control arms are bad. Were they damaged?

In our part of the world getting those bushings out can be a major project Most times after trying the 50 Ton press the torch comes out it stinks like hell but that is about the only way they come out.

After changing that last set of Bushings for the time involved in my case I might give some serious thought to new complete Control arms giving me the option to mess with them later or just throw them out.

Moog bushings do just fine, no need to replace the whole arm unless you want to be lazy or not rent a press. I didn't even remove the whole arm IIRC, I think I just took the alignment bolt out and dropped it. I forget exactly how I removed the bushings but the things popped out and flew across the driveway.

Edit: your going to need a press/puller for the LBJ anyway

You don’t seem to need new control arms, just bushings.

I’d trust oem control arms (with new bushings) over any “oem replacement” aftermarket brand.

Unless they are bent or damaged (extremely rare), just get bushings.

Firstly, I have had a lot of problems on the right side. Just in the recent, I have replaced the axle twice, 2 warped rotors, obviously pads. The tie rod sits angling towards the engine, the lbj sits funky (pic below) & the axle is absolutely straight.

Secondly, I have replaced the shocks, lbj's, ubj's, axles, wheel bearing, Tie rods, inners & outers, motor mounts, rad mounts & that's just up front. So what was left?

I guess we'll see what happens with the new one installed cuz if that's not why I'm having issues then I'm out of options.
