    I know this is an aged thread but I wanted to express thanks for drawing this out. This provided the aha moment that prevented me from giving up and going to an installer. Also, my install was on a RAV4, which is wired similarly, so I also wanted to leave a breadcrumb in hopes Google will index it with that keyword and it might help a future RAV4 audio upgrader.
