I have Method 301s and use wheel cleaner and car wash for normal cleanings. My curious if any one does anything different to maintain their wheels. I'm thinking of waxing them.

If you want to go down the rabbit hole, there are waxes and ceramic coats you can put on your wheels.

If you want to do it right, you have to remove them to apply it properly.

Ceramic coat lasts 1 to 2 years given the higher temperatures and environments wheels will see compared to the vehicle.

Be careful with "wheel cleaners" as they can sometimes be quite caustic and aggressive. Most are fine, but best to read the warning label and test in an inconspicuous spot whenever trying a new product or even trying an old product on a new wheel.

I would say 1000% yes to waxing (or ceramic coating) them. IMO, every surface of the car should be treated with an appropriate product which helps protect from UV damage.

The only other thing I'd highly suggest is to use an iron remover (like IronX) every so often. I use this on my paint but also even more often on my wheels due to the metallic bits coming off the brakes.

If you start with brand new wheels, wax or ceramic coat them on day one, use IronX every few washes or at least a couple times a year, wash the wheels regularly and re-apply your wax or ceramic coating regularly (frequency will vary based on the product used)... you'll end up with wheels that stay near new for a long, long time.

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
They should be thankful of some rain puddles or dawn blue (the one with the duck) soap.

My 701's: Pressure wash them, hose them off, run them thru the car wash. They see all these and I call it good. And at the time they seem to be fading I will pull out the rattle can. Flat black for the win.

You are better off with ceramic over wax. Wax will not stand up to the heat. I don’t have methods but I ceramic coat my wheels.

Welp… I spent a few hours ceramic coating with chemical guys hydro slick.

Getting up close and personal with the wheels and spending time cleaning before polishing I began to have mixed feelings with the quality of the product. The paint finish before I even started working on the wheels was “lack luster” and had 10+ blemishes per wheel while unboxing them

I am glad I took pictures/video while I unboxed them before I began ceramic coating.

However… once I saw what @Discount Tire paid before mark up on the packing slip - I got pretty upset at what I paid for “on sale price”.
