I have orange peel all over my truck and I wouldn’t be to worried about it unless your OCD like that. I have it all over my Audi sq5 as well. Just saying that before someone chimes in here and says cheap toyota paint etc etc.

If you wanna remove it your gonna have to wet sand your truck and polish it out.

Pics would help, not sure what you mean burgundy effect.

Lower panels have that on purpose to protect from rock chips etc. all

Orange peel texture is normal, the difference in color doesn't seem normal

I can’t see color difference with this pic. You need the right lighting ands good camera. There is a bunch of other colors in the room that may be causing this “burgundy” Different angles in different light will make things looks different, and it makes it even trickier cuz it’s ornage peel so light is bouncing off at different angles. I wouldn’t know unless I saw it in person.

Enjoy the truck. And don’t worry about the paint.

I can clearly see the difference in color and there's nothing in the reflection with even remotely the same color or anything that would cause that color to appear

Yep. It’s called gravel guard and if you try to sand it out you’ll go through the paint and into a bondo-like material.

And you know this by how...one picture, are you in the room? To many variables. No camera phone can produce a high quality picture unless you have a professional camera and a proper lighting for anyone to give a good opinion on what we are or not seeing.

If you actually have concerns OP that it is a different color. Get it professionally done by a detailer and correct the paint. No toyota dealership can fix this. Paint from factory is not perfect.

Your the one who quoted my post, “I can clearly see the difference in color and there's nothing in the reflection with even remotely the same color or anything that would cause that color to appear.”

I’m simply arguing your statement. Making it aware to the OP your wrong. Being a home detailer fanboy fanatic, lighting is everything when it comes to paint. If you’ve ever been in a good professional detail shop. It’s usually in a white room and good lighting to ensure what they see on the paint is correct. Not saying you need a white room to do a full paint correction, just saying in this particular matter, it’s most likely the case.

The orange peel look is the rock guard stuff. Now that orange color could be a bad reflection or lighting. If it’s still there in bright outdoors light, you might have a paint issue. It’s hard to tell from that picture though.

I looked at the original pic and thought it looked normal then kept reading on and went back to try to understand what you were saying. On second look I can see the darker area that I think you are referring to. It's easier for me to see when I look at the color at the top of the pic then look at the color on the bottom of the rocker panel instead of looking at the pic as a whole. I think the issue you are noticing is due to the fact that we have a metallic paint and you are getting light as a direct source on the top and it is reflecting the sparkly metallic grey side of the spectrum while the bottom of the rocker is getting indirect light (basically shadow) and isn't reflecting the metallics in the paint and you are just seeing straight color. Same reason some metallic paints look like one color during the day and a different color at night
