I bought the V5 @MESO turn signals with the intention of using the DRL function aswell. So I bought the DRL plug n play harness to make things easier upon installation.

I have the AlphaRex LED headlights in my truck so once installation was complete I got hyper flash on both signals when hooking up the DRL function…

is there a way to mitigate this with resistors, etc?

any input is MUCH APPRECIATED! Thanks!

Yup, adding resistance will take care of hyper flash. The trick is getting the correct valve resistor. Probably somewhere between 2-4 ohms.

Yap. Too much and it'll just blink once or twice, then stop. Too little hyperflash.

dumb question…. Where do the resistors need to be installed?

I think you will need to put it on the power and ground of the turn signal wires. I personally like to make/use a pnp harness so I am not tapping into the factory wires and this makes things reversible. But I think most will just use some sort of T-taps or something to tap into the turn signal power and ground wire.

Edit1: The wires you want to tap are the Pink(+) and White/Black(-) on the driver side connector and the Blue(+) and White/Black(-) on the passenger side connector, I'm assuming the wiring is the same for non pro and pro harness.

Edit2: If you want to make a harness so you don't have to tap the OEM wires, you can get the following connector:

    Turn Signal Connector (Female)
    https://www.corsa-technic.com/item.php?item_id=899
    Turn Signal Connector (Male)
    https://www.corsa-technic.com/item.php?item_id=1165

They come with the pins/sockets and seals. You just need wires and a crimper tool for the pins/sockets.

@Puppypunter can make you a plug and play harness with a VLEDS connector integrated into it. Something similar to this

You would just pick a few different resistor values and figure out which one works for you.

Not a dumb question at all. For people without electrical experience these trucks can be a real bugger. People have fried components, blown fuses just changing out interior bulbs to LED’s. But to answer your question, the resistor is installed in series with the power line.
Think of it as a circle, battery, switch, resistor, bulb, back to battery.

I have the same headlights and had hyper flash with the V5s but also have mesos total taillights. I ordered the plug and play resistors and no more hyper flash

I too have the total tails in my truck…i ordered the resistors from MESO so we’ll see if that does the trick! Thanks!!

The V5 turn signal shares the rear turn signal wires, not the Headlight turn wires.

The load resisters fixed my hyper flash
