    Hello,

I only use meguiars cleaner wax and also the carnauba yellow wax. I used to put on the whole truck, black plastic part non painted included. Now there are white residues on them and I must say it is unbeautiful...
How do you remove it on those black plastic safely? Is it safe to put wax on them?

Get in there really good with a pink rubber eraser to remove the residue. For temporary solution, Mother's "Back to Black" works well.

I've never used wax on unpainted plastic surfaces and would highly suggest not to again.Try removing it with your car wash soap you use or dilluted vinegar. Not sure of the ratio of balance between vinegar and water to dillute but it might help.Dilluted vinegar removes hard water spots from painted surfaces so it might work.Good luck!Just trying to be of help!

Believe it or not, spread peanut butter on black plastic that has wax residue, let it sit a few minutes, wipe it off. Done.

Of course now your truck smells like peanut butter, but it's clean..

definitely dont want to wax the black trim, best to use a trim specific product. Mothers back to black as mentioned above and ive had good results with Armor All Outlast Trim Restorer...both easily available

I have to ask why did you use the wax on the plastic? Most waxes say on the container not to use on plastic, rubber, etc.

Some Back-to-Black and a good scrub with a rag should do the job. It removes wax residue.

303 aerospace protectant is good on black trim on tacomas. I use it on bed rails and step pads. Not greasy and won't attract dust

I have the same problem, didn't put it there on purpose but my dual action buffer hit it slightly while waxing/polishing

I've tried back to black but it simply covers it up, not removes it

What about using your pressure washer on it? If you are careful not to damage the actual plastic it should remove the wax.

I haven't tried this one but it's intended for the exact purpose the OP is looking for. I've used regular Back to Black to restore neglected black trim with good success.

I always tape off the black sections when polishing or waxing, if I do manage to get some on I use the Basic Dawn Dish Detergent and then use Back to Black.
