Mechanic in North County San Diego?

Recently purchased a 2010 Tacoma and looking for a Tacoma knowledgeable mechanic known to be competent and honest (and a fair price is good too). We are in Vista at I78 & Melrose.

 

Rough Road Auto Performance off N. Melrose In Vista behind the Napa. The owner Austin is a long time fab guy and specializes in Toyota trucks. He used to work for Protrux in San Marcos (for those who’ve been in the Toyota prerunner scene long enough to remember them. The old shop manager Jim is the guy who ran SD Truck Shop until recently). Honest guy with reasonable prices and does great fab work too.

Not sure if you're dead set on an official shop, but @Speed Freek (Jason) is located up in vista and has lots of good feedback on his work. Pricing seems fair, and he is very knowledgeable and helpful. I'll text him quite often with questions and plan to use him for my upcoming installs.

I highly recommend @Speed Freek
He can do just about anything and he worked as a certified Toyota/Lexus mechanic for several years. Now he works out of his own shop at his house in Vista. You won’t regret working with him.

 

I texted with Jason a few days ago. A wealth of info, helpful, and lives about 3 miles from me. Thanks for the recommendations.
