**Measurement Request** Bed Cap Dimensions

Hello, I was wondering if anyone that has a bed cap and a decked storage unit could measure the distance between the decked platform and the roof of the bed cap? Along with the distance between the bed cap opening and the decked platform. I'm looking at multiple caps (snugtop, leer, ARE, Alu-Cab, etc), so please specify which model of cap you have.

I'm trying to see if a Gunner Intermediate Kennel (28.5" tall) will fit on top of the decked drawer system with a cap on. This would be installed on a gen 3 Tacoma. Thank you for any help/guidance with this.


***update: it looks like the decked system is 12” tall. Will y’all with tops similar to the snug top rebel, ARE CX or Z, or Leer 100's measure your internal height dimensions? I can subtract 12" from it and see if I’ll be alright. Thank you again!

 

I have a snugtop hi-liner on my 3rd gen. There is 36" clearance at the opening, and 41" inside. That kennel might just fit, but you couldn't take it in or out, unless it comes apart into smaller peices.

 

Thank you for the measurements! The 41” would clear for sure. The 36” would be too short. From what I can tell, it’s the cab height to rail height I need to worry about. I called snugtop and they told me to subtract 1” from whatever measurement I get to account for the honeycomb of the rebel. I found one in a parking lot and got 20” from rail to cab top. Plus 19” for bed depth according to Toyota’s website.

 

No prob, I've gleaned a lot of helpful info off here. I've got the hi-liner with sportsmans package (thicker honeycomb; you lose another inch on the inside). I have 41" clearance inside the topper, but not right at the front or sides (the roofline is curved in those areas). I doubt a rebel would have 39" clearance inside, prob more like 36". Try to get some real measurements inside one.

 

Do you know the height from bed rail or bed to the highest outside point? I really want the Hi Liner but want to fit in the garage still.

 

It is kind of hard to measure that... the cap overhangs the rail on the outside.
I tried to eye-ball the overall height to the top of the cap, by standing up on the rear wheel in my dim garage. I'd say it is about 72.5" on my 2018 sport.

 

Just wondering what's the dimension of your windoors? thinking replace my regular vented window but can get that information from anywhere.
