Hey everyone. I just ordered some McNeil racing fenders off their site. This will just be a thread where I update y’all on my progress and for anyone to ask question as I’m in the process because that’s something I wanted. I got the 4” bulges with the 2.5” raise. They won’t be in for a while but I figured I might as well start this thread now. Also if anyone is getting ready to order a set you can use code “isenhouer15” at the checkout for 15% off the total order.

watching. i'm looking to eventually get some 2" ones on mine.

not sure if you'd know, but any idea if you can install rear fenders, and still use a bedrack? or would they be too weak to support the weight/abuse?

You know, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I’m sure the material is close if not the same from the front and the rear packages. Fiberglass isn’t the strongest material but maybe if it’s thick enough you might be able to get away with it. I’ll let you know when mine come in the mail in a couple of weeks.

Depending on the glass and rack it could be fine. My Fiberwerx rear panels are actually about half an inch lower since the plastic fender top is gone. The racks mount the the inner rail so as long as you avoid those TT panels all racks should be fine. My rack bars actually are not flush with the rear fender tops and have that half inch gap I mentioned and just float above.

Going into my last week of college in my freshman year. Making a trip back to texas (home) where the fenders will be shipped hopefully not long after I get back. Ya’ll have no idea how excited I am to get these on the truck and wrap it. I’m going with a dark green. A little darker than the new army green looking 2021 color. I will keep you guys updated on the condition of the fenders, shipping, mounting, etc, whatever y’all want to know.

    Update on the thread-

The fenders finally came in and I got the passenger side installed. They look awesome. My only complaint is that some of the pieces where you mount them to the truck aren’t as wide as I’d like them to be. Causing me to drill the holes a little too close to the edge for comfort. Also at the front end of them where the headlight attaches to them, there is no fiberglass there to attach the headlights to.

With that being said most of them are easy fixes. There’s a hole in the truck under the outer headlight mount that you could easily drill a hole in the plastic and bolt to.

    E7AFDB5C-69C3-4D84-9616-7FA8125996CF.jpg
Most of the gaps between the hood and door line up. Door opens fine with no rubbing against.

These are the 4” bulges and can definitely tell the width of them. My tires aren’t swallowed as bad as i thought they would be (285/70/17) although i will still get some 1” or 1.5” spacers on them. Let me know what you guys think.

Drivers side will go on tomorrow. Wasn’t able to put on tonight because there’s a bolt you have to open the door to get to and I didn’t have enough room between the camper and fence as you can see. Going to have to pull around front and install it in front of the house

I got them both on and they look awesome. The drivers side is lined up perfectly with the hood and door. All the brackets lined up perfect and was a breeze putting on. The passenger side however was not as smooth. The brackets mounting to the door side of the truck are a little off and took some maneuvering to put it in place. With that said, the top of the fender closest to the windshield is not perfectly lined up with the hood, however my ditch lights cover up the gap where it’s all hidden. 8A23A5C7-DEEE-46B9-98DD-0CC9A98450AA.jpg
Definitely going to need a set up spacers until I throw on a new suspension setup but they look awesome up there. I’m running 33’s and these make me want to bump up to 35’s lol.

I think i am going to try and rig up some sort of mount to put on the little piece that goes under the headlights so that gap isn’t there. Shoot any ideas my way.

I’ll be adding some inner fender liners later on when i go back to Arkansas too keep rocks and mud from damaging the fenders and any other goods in there.

that looks great. good to know it pretty much all fit without modifications, minus some minor offsets. that's one of my bigger limiters to getting fiberglass, because idk how much i trust myself to cut it to fit properly lol

Yea 100%. I’m not necessarily too worried about it driving around here because I’m in the middle of the city driving on pavement every time. But when i go back to college, 75% of the roads i drive on are at least partial gravel or dirt. I will be putting some on before then.

I was worried about it to. I was going back and forth between McNeil and Fiberworx fenders and after a YouTube video on the Tacoma beast channel, i decided on McNeil because of how easy they made it seem. And even with those guys being professionals, it really was that easy.

Shoot me ideas for what color you think would look good on my truck. I’m thinking either a gunmetal gray or a really dark green.

Like to have the fenders contrasting? Or to repaint the entire truck?

Personally I always like a good dark green, or maybe a burnt bronze if you can own it

The Forest Green Tacomas look amazing. I have been eyeballing fenders for my 2nd Gen and if I changed colors I would probably do a flat dark green.

Repaint the entire truck. The previous owner used it more as a work truck and never really took care of it some some of the paint is fading. Was planning on doing it, just waiting for the fenders.

I wanted to go with the cement color but a while ago I was driving in Little Rock and saw that dark green and fell in love. Not sure about the flat but will definitely consider it.
