How’s it Tacoma World! I recently purchased a 2021 Army Green Tacoma TRD Off-road from Maui Toyota. Wondering if a aftermarket intake and exhaust will void warranty?

Doesn’t automatically void the entirety of the truck’s warranty. Think about it. What if the brakes have an issue that require warranty coverage? Who cares what you did to the intake and exhaust? But if your Toyota develops a mechanical issue that you want addressed under warranty claim.... if that issue is in any way connected to the intake and exhaust function, and if the problem can be blamed on those modifications, you’ll be fighting an uphill battle to get coverage and likely lose. Even if your last name is Kamehameha.

So I suggest the following....go down to the beach early in the morning. A time when you can be alone with your thoughts. Find a nice volcanic rock. Sit in the yogi position with arms and hands in dedicated prayer posture. Close your eyes and repeat the mantra, “what kind of man am I?” Say it over and over in whispered tones. From there move into this question.....”Am I a man that grasps life by the balls or am I a man who plays it safe?” Allow your mind to entertain a multitude of visions in your life where you’ve been both. Relive them there on the beach. After an hour you will know whether you will be changing out your intake and exhaust.

Congrats one your new truck purchase. That new TRD OR green is very cool.

Nice truck! Might have seen it the other day on the lot. A friend and I were browsing the lot for 4runners but the buggah was EMPTY. And what little inventory they did have was all Tacomas.

If performance is what you want my bradda, I'd hit up @VooDoo808 for a tune. Truck has plenty enough power for here on maui, just gotta tap into it. Just got my truck tuned and it drives like a whole different truck. I'm in love all over again

Now if it's sound that you're chasing, then by all means go for the intake and exhaust. Some friends of mines have some nice sounding Tacomas, not my thing, but I do like a nice sounding truck.

Or do both and you'll have yourself one cherreh truck my friend:thumbsup:

Welcome aboard the mod bug train.
For an intake I would highly suggest something that has an option for a dry flow filter vs an oiled filter. Because of being a maf sensor based vehicle. As for warranty issues as long as you’re not fording through water that can reach the intake duct (above the passenger fender liner) I’d be hard pressed seeing an issue dealing with warranty.
And exhaust wise as long it is cat back. There should really be no issue warranty wise.

intake and exhaust work is so easily reversible that if need be can be reverted back to stock. Just make sure you keep your stock parts around for peace of mind.
