I've seen where a member used matte finish paint protection film (XPel) on the radar garnish piece to better blend in with the grill. Has anyone tried a light coat of matte clear spray paint to achieve the same result without causing any malfunction of the sensor? All I'm looking to do is dull the gloss of the garnish. The problem is, I don't want to be the guinea pig...

I thought about that too, but decided to go with the vinyl because it's reversible

Today I got my Pro Grill and my garnish in the mail. The garnish is literally an 1/8 inch thick piece of solid plastic with a gloss face. Now I know why its refered to as "garnish". I can't imagine why if I put a light layer of matte clear spray paint that it would create any errors. If the radar waves can travel through the garnish, they can certainly travel through a layer of spray paint. I'm curious though, if there is a reason for the gloss/reflective face? The OEM Sport grill garnish is also gloss/reflective. Hmm....

It's gloss, I'm guessing for ease of cleaning/self cleaning.
