I was hoping to find the amber color of fog lights to match the same color as the DRL. I have the 17' SR5 so they're just the standard headlights... I haven't found anything to justify with matching the amber color but its looks like the Morimito XB would be the closest I've seen so far?

Asking my fellow experts for approval and justification lol.

I would buy more for functionality than looks. The yellow's on the market may not match the DRLs, but there's probably a reason for that.

The 2017 lights suck. I had one. Upgrade the low beams to HID if you haven’t already. Thats a much more important upgrade.

Are you saying you don't have factory fogs and looking for aftermarket options?

I would say the Lamin-X option that @Junkhead mentioned would work if you had factory fogs installed.

FWIW I bought white LED fog light housing replacements from Amazon and applied amber lamin-x film. Very good throw and proper cut off, I’m very happy with them.

It’s this “siemid” brand from Amazon, they look just like Tundra LED fogs.

No. Heretic sells products falsely advertised as fogs, just like Baja used to. That is not an SAE fog in the slightest, it will not have a fog light pattern and cause blinding glare to oncoming drivers while not being street legal and also making them ineffective in fog.

If you truly want amber (not yellow) fogs, the best performing option is KC G4 ambers covered here: KC Amber. However, as mentioned amber is a very low performing output color for fog, the intensity is low, the contrast is low, the color accuracy is low., there is very little good about it while selective yellow is vastly superior with all the benefits of long wavelength light for performance in poor weather and far less draw backs. The mid-grade Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro in selective yellow is 3.6x+ higher output than the KC ambers, while offering better color for visibility, higher contrast, running hot enough to clear snow, having a larger pattern area and non-reflective long wavelength light output. That isn't even the top of the line Max. The ambers are actually lower in output than the stock 16-19 H11 TRD fogs.

Long story short, quality amber options do exist. But vastly superior selective yellow options do as well, which would be a much wiser purchase.

I went with the TRD Pro Rigid fogs a few months back from a fellow TW member. I wanted a little more output, and to somehow maybe match that DRL amber color on the headlight. I have the cali raised LED combo beam light bar coming in to mount under the grill so I didn't want to be lit up like a christmas tree of LED, needed a little contrast IMO.

From what I'm hearing from y'all the functionality of the amber fogs will not give as much output so maybe a more luminating LED fogs would work? Thanks for the input guys!

Remember Fog lights are only effective in FOG. They are not a suitable accessory driving light and regardless of color should not be used as such. They also should not be used when it isn’t foggy as they can actually reduce your , and others, vision.

So if you need good FOG lights take crash’s advice.

If you want matching color down there some clearance lights or similar should give you the look without the downsides. No harm in wanting the look and there are ways to do so that look nice and have little drawbacks.

As far as actual headlight, driving, ability to see stuff in front of you improvements it’s best to tackle the factory headlights for those updates. There is the awesome sticky and the $20 for H9’s is unbeatable, and crashe’s thread on supplemental high beams is another great read.

    Interesting.

I had yellow lamin x over the same LED fog lights and the output looked a bit greenish yellow, now with the amber lamin x the light out output is a nice yellow color.

I see a lot of icelandic builds with amber fogs, I wonder why. Yellow does seem like a better color for fog and snow.

The yellow laminex is used for a warm white halogen light source ~3000k-3000k. When you try to correct 6000k using yellow laminex, there is too much blue in the light. Blue + yellow = green. Similar to how the SS3 Sport/Pro which use 4000k emitters have yellow lenses vs the Max that has 6000k emitters requires a different amber lens to achieve proper yellow output.
